Bit of both. MvG was roundly booed at the start and it seemed to rattle him and he's all over the place, Taylor playing well though.

There really are some morons at the darts.  The stick MVG is getting is ridiculous and you can see it is clearly upsetting him.  They'd probably be singing his name if he'd got through and played in the semi final.  Great win for Taylor though.

Edit - Phil Taylor as humble as ever in the post match interview.

As Taylor just said, it's no different in Holland. Taylor has been slaughtered by the crowd over there in the past.

He's been booed by crowds over here as well though.  I just thought it crossed a line at times tonight.

He's a cock a lot of the time but you have to admire his talent. Quarter of a century at the top, winding down to retire in a few months and can still dismantle the best player like that.

Both averaged around 101 and yet it finished 16-6. As a famous philosopher once said, trebles for show, doubles for dough.

Oh absolutely.  His longevity and consistency over such a long period time is unprecedented really.

Taylor said MVG's partner is due to give birth any day now, so it's possible that his mind being elsewhere affected him more than the crowd.

Darts crowds do seem to be twats, generally, though. Boring, unoriginal bellends with no interest in watching the sport they've paid to see. "Tables, tables, give us a song", "stand up if you love the darts", "Kolo, Kolo, Kolo". Fuck off.

I wonder if the baby will look like his dad? What am I talking about.  Nearly all babies look like MVG.

Don't forget the highly original "Boring boring table" and the Icelandic clap as well.

Yes the momentum changed a couple of times, good game indeed, also Mensur is gaining new fans with his charisma on the stage.

I think it's the beer talking. If football fans were allowed to drink through the game I've no doubt there would be far more issues. I think you could reflect on fans at football chanting whilst holding one shoe in the air and say it was pretty daft. 'Stand up if you love Villa', 'Brucey, gives us a wave' etc etc.

It's harmless in most cases, and people go for the game and beer rather than supporting one individual.

I went a few years ago to Blackpool, it was a fun afternoon/evening.

He's 4th favourite with the bookies after Van Gerwyn, Anderson and Snake Bite Wright
