Like all on here we are just sick of the plucky loser tag that we get against them, it is thier favourite ground dont you know. I dont give a shit about how well we played, the idea that if we play like that every week we will be fine, we wont. No we reserve these sepecially interesting games for the Sky TV viewers and confirm every time that the decision they made (those sad glory hunting wankers that no fuck all about anything)to support Man Utd was the right one. I am fucking sick of it. Thats all.

Have to say, I agree with you.
But what can we do?  We played well but we've got kids and they've got talent everywhere you look. You compare our squad with theirs and 9 times out of 10 they'll win.  All our lads can do is work their balls off, which they did, and hope for the best.

I know the run is too long but you can't really hold that against any of these players, bar maybe Gabby, or Lambert.  They're basically all new and they made a much better fist of it than many who've gone before.

Beating Man Utd isn't easy and it's made even harder when you're trying to do it on the cheap, as we are.  We're rebuilding (again) properly from scratch so I do think the quality of our performance matters.  And it was a good performance so, gutted as I am, I do think that's something to hold on to.
Hiltz you make a lot of sense, its just that this has happened too many times. I want a Villaeam to say right we are now 2 nil up now lets finish it. As soon as they got the 1st goal you knew the script.

Look at how young our team is too. They can be very proud with how they performed against premier league veteran's.

I'm annoyed we lost but there's no way we didn't deserve at least a point. No Villa fan should be negative going forward after today (bar the actual result), we lost but we can still hold our heads high and feel positive going into the game against man city even though I know we will be facing just as a tough as the opponent today.

I dont know why Delph and KEA are copping stick.

All three goals were poor defensively. The little ****** faced weasel got a lot of luck with the first and the second was an own goal. The third was appalling.

The midfields were well matched. They have Valencia who I really rate which makes a difference.

We need a centre half to go with a central brute.

We may well be in the bottom three next week, but come May we will be well clear.

I think we feel it so hard as it has happened to us before, but the reality is they do it to everyone. I think that's 16 points already this season they've gained after trailing.

Want to say that our second goal was very good some great passing all round.

Gabby played well but his problem on the wing is he lacks close ball control and even when he had the ball centrally today he over ran is a few times.

Gutted, I was happy with our forward play but we need to sort out or defensive issues.

I hate there supporters, bunch of twats, when we scored our 2nd it got a bit entertaining up in P8, some twat chucked drinks from there side to ours and then gave it the big un. Fucking tosser didn't have the balls to actually climb over to our side!

I hate them with a passion

Whilst I too am happy with the performance, I just hope this isn't a knock-back that we take weeks to get over - like what happened under Houllier.

Good performance from all. Play like that against the majority of other teams in the league and we'll be fine.

Benteke was unplayable for Man Utd. He was incredible, very much reminded me of Carew at his best. Really impressed with him today.

Also mentions to Ireland, who has to be a regular starter in my mind.

Also, Westwood and Bannan. It just goes to show that you don't have to be big or a great tackler to defend well as a midfielder. If you put the effort in like they did, then it's hard for the opposition to get anything, they just ran out of steam a bit towards the end.

Gabby was good, both full-backs played well considering who they were up against.

As Lambert has said, if the players can't take positives from that then they'll never get any positives. Just a pity the next couple of games are tough ones.

As a side, I've never seen one person take a beating of so many people before. Some bloke in the Upper Holte (towards the front of the left hand side) cheered when they scored the third and it all kicked off. People ran from everywhere to take pot shots at him. Even when the stewards were protecting him people were still getting punches and kicks in. Nobody deserves that, but did he not expect something like that to happen?!?!?

There was a couple up in P8 who at the end thought it was a good idea to celebrate, the stewards and quite a few villa were wrestling them out, the police stopped a couple of lads following them down they looked like they would have done them some damage if the caught up to them

We could really do with a couple of big strong experienced defenders in January.  Our lads are all young and, for the most part, look promising but they're a bit lightweight* and maybe too green for what could be a relegation scrap.

* Except Concrete Ronaldo, obviously.

We were desperately unlucky. Unlucky in the extreme, but we lost. Then again we have nothing to be ashamed about. They brought on a player who provides goals consistently and thats what he did.

Magnificent performances by Ron Vlaar and Stephen Ireland in the first half. The same could be said of Benteke in the second half. Weimann could have had a hat trick and no fault of his that he didnt.

It would be unfair to critisise anyone after a performance like that they all worked their socks off

It bodes very well for our future indeed.

Benteke hardly wasted a ball all afternoon he is a major presence for our club.

Well done the Villa!
