Do they all do it for a dare and then all feedback into some website to brag about their exploits ?"  I was in The Holte lower and celebrated the 3rd in wild fashion and survived.  Aren't I a legend "

The guy sat in front of me in Witton Upper was a Utd fan BUT he did everything by the book, for the Petrov minute he stood and applauded, when we scored he politely applauded, when they scored he sat on his hands and kept it shut...textbook supporting the away team from the home seats

its quite simple do as Wigan do and dont sell tickets to anyone for this match without a previous history.

Why would they turn down ticket sales? They'd probably insist on a booking history if there was any chance of us selling out.

Why do they risk crowd problems and pissing off their own fans for the sake of a few grand?

Indeed.  Go back a few years to when we were averaging nearer 40k and games like Man U were booking history only.

Because any away fans without common sense who kick up a fuss quickly get kicked out, and it's unlikely any Villa fans will do any more than grumble. If people stopped attending due to away fans in the home end, it might be worth declining sales. But they don't, so the club will keep making it easy to get the tickets.

I'd rather not sit next to Mancs either, but the club is owned by a businessman, not a Villa fan. Free cash isn't to be sneezed at, I guess.

Yep I have no problem with this and have sat with home fans a few times at the emirates.

Ironically the Upper Trinity these days more than the North Stand seems to attract away fans for all opposition.

Had a couple of Norwich fans to the left of me the other week who were o.k but got a bit carried away when they scored. There was also a Swansea fan never me who leaped out of his seat when Luke Moore headed straight at Guzan which kind of gave the game away.

Probably the funniest last season was at home to Sunderland. An obvious Sunderland fan who kept getting agitated whenever they missed and then exploded with joy when Bedtner scored....his offside goal.

Is it free cash though? How many more stewards and police do the club have to pay for because they know there will be away fans in the home ends as they sold tickets to them? How many Villa fans do they potentially lose as they make one of their first visits to VP, see crowd problems and decide not to bother again?

And incidents occur out of sight of stewards or before the stewards get there. We're not Walsall, do we really need a few grand that desperately?

We do not have a neutral end as they do at Fulham so all the club is inviting to happen is headless chickens to get upset and start a row, the site states home stand tickets are for home fans, if there is any doubt, which most on here can see and at the end of the day a lot of the stewards are home fans, they eject them, club gets money from tickets dickheads get thrown out simple.

Because we never got away supporters in our stands when Doug was chairman, oh no.

What's the world coming to when you can't even get away with an unfair petty dig at the chairman.

Herbert wasn't a Villa fan either - I don't know many Villa fans who would happily be a director at the Blues.

Of course not.  Why would the person who invented the bicycle kick tell fibs?
