I heard about some trouble in the upper Holte. Apparently some bloke with his daughter who removed her coat to reaveal a Man U top.  Fans around them had words and it ended with the bloke calling Villa fans around him scum and such like. He got a few digs before they were both taken out by stewards

That hardly reflects well on our supporters.

Irresponsible parenting a contributory factor IMO. It shouldn't have happened but that's not the world we live in.

The upper North was a complete nightmare. Loads of them getting chucked out after each of the first 2 goals. An absolute ****** 3 rows down from me obnoxiously celebrating all their goals and having a go at a Villa fan behind him when told to shut up.. He got away with it presumably because most of the Villa fans sat round him were about 10 years old and none of their parents wanted to cause a scene.

Then on leaving almost a fight between 3 Utd fans and some Villa in the concourse. One of them was a big fat bastard giving it loads. I'm afraid games like this just can't go on general sale, I'd rather watch with 5k empty seats personally. Sure the club loses a bit of cash but what with it being on telly I'm sure this is relatively negligible.

I sometimes wonder if the Villa ever emulated our past glories would we attract an element of wanker support.

Is suggest we've already got an element, just like every other club.

And comments on this thread calling Man U fans 'Munichs' would seem to prove it.

No it doesn't.

It doesn't reflect well on the bloke's common sense or parenting skills either.

It doesn't but anyone who gets upset by the sight of a young girl wearing a football shirt and wants to attack her father isn't someone I'd particularly want supporting my club.

Irresponsible parenting in my eyes dave.Don't wear the shirt and shut up when sitting amongst opposition fans.

I've had Ure fans sitting next to me at VP before, but they were quiet and respectful, and i've sat at away games in the home enclosure and kept quiet.

 Probably a Blooose fan anyway.

I don't condone supporters getting attacked in any way, but allowing your child to reveal opposition colours in the Holte End is beyond stupid.

It's pretty sad that our lot would give grief to a young girl, but it's just not that clever to let her wear it and then sit amongst the home fans.
However maybe he thought that we were above all that, and felt that we would take into account her age etc and just respect her choice. If this was the case, it's a shame we let him and her down...

On a flippant note, I'm wondering why he let her take her coat off. Whilst it wasn't freezing cold, it was hardly warm.

On a more serious note, and bearing in mind my knowledge of the event has been gained from this thread, sounds like the father and his daughter are Sky educated Man Yew fans, and this was probably their first live game. Eat your heart out Miss Marple.
