The first time I was aware of the Scummy Reds as a collective was when their mediocre miss-mash of team beat us 2-0 in a rescheduled game in the run-in in 1990.

They ran around the terrace to the right of us as we were penned in after the game, to unfurl their shitty flag.

Wankers.

Closet noses the lot of 'em.

They never did it on the rare occasions they played Small Heath. It's a strange fact of life that the majority of that loathsome bunch always talked down their own city, praised everything Mancunian, yet had "a soft spot" for Small Heath.

So he's been a fan for at least 8 years, doesn't exactly live far away from Manchester and this is first ever game? And they wonder why people take the piss out of their support.

And he's obviously going to be in a home stand. The immature, non sporting part of me is very tempted to say more, the "i'm dead mature these days" part is persuading me not to. Is the immature part totally wrong?

Have another beer and calm down cheltenhamlion. Don't waste energy on the tossers.

Half and half scarves are an abomination.

I've got one,

Villa-Bilbao, bought at the best away ever

That was also my best trip ever, their supporters were fantastic, so we reciprocated for the return leg. Absolutely great fans, as opposed to the Madrid tossers!

The difference in Madrid was that we smashed the place up.

Did we? Apart from Fowler's lot having a couple of scuffles in bars what smashing up was there?

There was a lot of agro the night before the game and a stabbing in the morning of the game.

It was peaceful where we were drinking on the main drag, but I think part of the reason we were so roughly handled by the police was due to the on off trouble Fowlers lot had caused over two days.

It was very iffy once we arrived at the ground, but that was more to police incompetence than anything. Or they had a deliberate plan to take us to the wrong side of the ground and have us stand there as target practice for the locals.

It was like a kettle wasn't it? Bottles flying over, Villa trying to get at the locals, the police doing their best to inflame the situation by battoning everybody in sight. We were waiting ages to get in.

I have followed us all over Europe and I struggle to recall anything similar really.

This, had 2 great days with the locals. It was the bar next to the ground where the trouble started. To be fair to the police they got the shields up to stop the rain of bottles.

ALl I remember is it was really moody walking to the ground. Locals spitting on us and looking for trouble. Police didn't give a shit.

I have never seen so many half and fucking half scarves in my life, ever. I'd rather have a genuine Manchester United supporter than some of the "Where's the Holte End?" tossers we get for this match.
