Was the game moved? I always thought it was actually played on 23 December.

It was played on the 23rd. The first leg was played on the 16th, and was not all ticket if my memory serves.

Can't for the life of me remember why the games would have been put back a week.

Wonderful memories.

Both games were put back a week because of an energy workers' strike in the good old days when these things were allowed to happen.

I queued overnight to get my ticket -the first time I ever went in the old Trinity Road.

It still ranks above the European Cup Final for me, but probably just down to nostalgia or because I was only 14 and totally sober.

I was there that night. It was scary walking down Witton Lane afterwards - the Utd fans gave several Villa fans a right kicking!
