I don't think Lambert has the personality to deal with opinionated high profile players. Some of the formations he's sent out lately wouldn't sit well with experienced players who know the game also.

I agree with this , i think he shies away from big name experienced players and surrounds himself with younger .

Does he?  Or do the wage restrictions mean he hasn't a choice anyway?

Well the so called established players here havent really blossomed under him , given, bent ireland, hutton , warnock , nzogbia, gabby  - none have flourished under him

Most of those were also shit before he got here.

It would appear they've got even shitter now.

I don't know - Hutton and Warnock were awful in 2011/2012 and we all wanted them out of the side.  Now some seem to be sorry they're going! ;)

I think Palacios would be a really good capture. Him and the ginger scouser sitting in front of the back 4, with Westwood, Delph, Bilbo, and Dhalsim to come if needed.

Here you go John

Thanks!

However, that is him talking up his young signings and not dismissing older heads as useless.

If he was under wages pressure so had to go for these players, he's hardly likely to ruin their confidence by saying "Well, as we can't afford top wages I've had to go wioth kids!"

Hutton and Warnock are better than Lowton and Bennett. I wasn't expecting a downgrade over summer.

For about the 15th year running it appears that a transfer rumour legend will not be joining..................

Quote
BBC Sport's Giles Goford at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa: "I was with Benni McCarthy, the former Blackburn and West Ham striker, at a secondary school in Soweto today.

"I asked Benni if Real Madrid or Manchester United had been in touch regarding a last minute move back to Europe. Now 35, Benni laughed and said 'I'm way out of reach for them, I'm on another continent.'"

He hasnt exactly got the best out of them though has he ?

Nope and no-one else of any worth thinks they can either. Hence the apparent absence of bids for them. Any of them.

Bent aside, and he appears to be struggling on and off with injuries for  a year, no-one will sign the others.

I think Malouda is a fine player but If they want to throw Essien in too , so be it .

Essien plays for Real Madrid.

did they buy him or loan him ?

Loaned him at the start of the season.

He clearly believed his own hype though? Why leave Norwich if you've been put under such contraints.

Sorry for shouting, don't know how to highlight

One player I'd love us to try and sign is Jack Rodwell. He might even be useful in the back three, as he looks a genuine footballer who could play anywhere you put him.

He'd surely love to play a few games for us rather than sit on City's bench?
