I find it incredible that people don't rate Lowton as a good signing. I can see him being our right-back for the next 7/8 seasons.

I'm hedging my bets, I've just started booing him

heh. That's going to make you unpopular what with the standing ovation they get after every loss.

I'm booing *and* applauding at the same time.

Solid. Unspectacular. Ordinary. Nowt wrong with that but I doubt they'll be much of a clamour for his signiture.

I don't think of him as overly unlucky, he can't train his team to defend set pieces and he's been negligent with the best array of attackers in the bottom half of the league (damned with faint praise I know), we've enough talent to stay up but I can't see it happening and that's Lamberts fault.

I'm struggling to think of a club that's had as much bad luck as we have over the past three seasons.

I'd say all Lambhchop's signings have had very poor games. Only ones in credit overall for me are westwood and Benteke and if we're being very pedantic Guzan

You do have to credit Guzan re-signing as Lambert. If we still had TSM he was gone.

It is true though. We had to totally rebuild a squad on 23 million plus less wages than before. He bought fairly well, just did not have the time to properly analyse just how incredibly bad our squad was already.

He bought well? Are you absolutely being serious?

Completely.

Guzan, Lowton, Westwood and Benteke were excellent signings for the fees

Vlaar needs time to get back up to speed following injury but prior looked like he was adjusting and the other night I thought lead the onslaught second half well.

His biggest mistake, or let down, unfortunately for him is KEA never adjusting to the physical side of the game here. Petrov struggled badly for 18 months when he arrived and I do think KEA can improve, he was loved dearly by the fans of Feyenoord so there is a player in there.

Bennett - we needed a left back that was solid and Bennett is easily his most unfit for the role signing. He is a cracking footballer IMO, and could easily play left midfield in a 4-4-2 and sling balls into the box.

Well he has. You do realise that our wage restraints made it impossible to bring in any proven Premier League players and we had to shop around lower leagues and abroad? Considering the budget and wage bill he's working with, to pick up players like Guzan, Vlaar, Westwood, Lowton and possibly Bennett for lower wages than the players here previously and with only about £18m, he's bought well. It's just players like Clark, Bannan, Ireland, N'Zog, Gabby, Bent, Hutton, Delph and Warnock that have completely failed to impress this season and the reason why we're in the state we are.

Houllier's + Petrovs illness were bad luck though one predictible, what else was down to pure bad luck?

We are 2nd bottom and can't buy a win, its difficult to defend against those who criticize the team Lamberts bought.

But boy do they try!

Footballer supporters defending their team. How terrible.

Defending them from what, a bit of reality?

I defend the team I support from unfair criticism. What do you do?

As far as I can see you've been defending the club left right and centre whatever the criticism has been this season. It's only lately you've started to sound a little worried.
To answer your question though, I criticise the club when I feel they deserve it. I said from day one we were in trouble while many were still dancing with delight at Lambert's "young and hungry" signings.

Three years of injuries for a start. That's not normal.

Whilst Lambert has blame for team setup, an obviously example of unlucky was Tuesday. Nzog hits the bar where Cabaye scores. Might have been a totally different game at that point. Another was Southampton, they get a given a Pen for a player diving with no contact.

Fair enough. I guess no-one on here was demanding his retention although myself and others thought he'd had a raw deal from TSM

If you continue to sell your best players and replace them with inferior ones, how does bad luck come into it?

God forbid anyone should try to see the good in the team they support. God forbid they should point out that the problem isn't the new signings but the old ones.
