The Premier League ain't La Liga. The first quality you need to survive is physical strength and endurance, so if the new lad has enough of that he should be OK.

True, and hopefully Lambert has learned that by now after watching his mostly useless signings getting taken to the cleaners in every game.
''

Guzan, Vlaar, Westwood, Lowton and   Benteke = most?

Are you counting Guzan as one of his? He was only out of contract, it's not as if Lambert had to do much in order to land him.

Out of the others, I'd only say Benteke was a good signing. We're not in the doldrums for no reason.

He still had to sign Guzan, and at a time when there was scarcely a clamour for his signature. We're where we are because of the players who were already here, not the new ones.

heh. I know hutton and warnock are shit but blaming them when they haven't played is a bit harsh.

We are 2nd bottom and can't buy a win, its difficult to defend against those who criticize the team Lamberts bought.

But boy do they try!

Footballer supporters defending their team. How terrible.

It is true though. We had to totally rebuild a squad on 23 million plus less wages than before. He bought fairly well, just did not have the time to properly analyse just how incredibly bad our squad was already.

Defending them from what, a bit of reality?

He should have done better with what's at his disposal, not a huge amount better but not 2nd bottom.

I'd say all Lambhchop's signings have had very poor games. Only ones in credit overall for me are westwood and Benteke and if we're being very pedantic Guzan

I defend the team I support from unfair criticism. What do you do?

That I agree with. He is though, IMO, the unluckiest manager I have ever witnessed.

SH, it would be interesting to know whether you had this opinion about Lambert and the team after the defeat by Man u and after the 6 game unbeaten run. Sometimes it does you good to look at the positives.

I do get you want the best from the team all the time, and you never moan when things are going well  :-\, but the fact is there are some signs of good players in some of the one's who have been bought.

If all players from lower leagues are shit, I'm guessing you never rated Delaney, Teale, Platt or Yorke. And you think the QPR team pre Harry was the bees knees. After all, they bought in loads of players with Prem Experience in the summer.

I don't think of him as overly unlucky, he can't train his team to defend set pieces and he's been negligent with the best array of attackers in the bottom half of the league (damned with faint praise I know), we've enough talent to stay up but I can't see it happening and that's Lamberts fault.

He bought well? Are you absolutely being serious?
