I hope he is the first of 2-3 coming in. A centre half, and another mid would be nice.

Would be tempted to do Adam and Jones for Bent. At least we would reshape the midfield, and Adam can create if given the chance.

I'd be the first to admit I've not heard of him so I don't wish to be unkind. But is anyone under the illusion a 22 yr old from the French second division can inspire this side to safety?

I doubt if some of his own family have heard of him.

In the file with salifou and makoun for me.

Salifou came for peanuts, Makoun was fine. Give the guy a chance.

Makoun was fine Mumbles got rid of him as he arrived. Didnt speak English apparently.

And didn't have a work permit to play here. But don't let the facts get in the way.

Pat Murphy said we've paid £2m for Sylla, who's a six-foot, very physical DCM, and that there's at least one other "iron in the fire." Let's hope so, but it's good news at last!

Excellent news.
Proves PL's got money to spend and if he's anything like Benteke in his impact on the team, he will be terrific.

Quite agree, though steady on with the MONisms Louzie0!  ;)

Yep, I'd settle for that as well.

He may well be, but I just can't help having reservations.  Many were calling for the signing of experienced players in the summer and it could be argued that the failure to do that has landed us in this mess.  I hope we aren't going to make the same mistake this time round, as we are in a position where we simply can't afford to get it wrong.

Adam's not all that, and do we really need Jones? We have Benteke, Weimann, Gabby and Bowery already! I'm not sure about that hypothetical deal, but it's all about opinion isn't it?

Four years ago this was the type of signing we should have been making. Young with potential, not expensive. Is he what we need now... well it's a lot of pressure to put on a 22 year old from the second tier of French football.

Good luck!

Before we all get too excited, has he actually signed yet? Any official confirmation?

We have signed Lowton, Bennett, Bowery, Westwood and Stephens from lower leagues.  At least Lambert is being consistent.   Consistently failing too of course.
