I'm at a loss. Only Villa could pay 24m for a proven goalscorer, then sell the supply line and watch him flounder. Probably get less than half that for him and what we do will probably waste on utter shit

I really felt for Bent and Benteke in the first half last night. What striker could thrive in that utterly ridiculous formation ? talk about isolated. I'm half thinking Lambert did it on purpose

Oh well, we'll sell Bent, and Benteke will be off in the summer too. That'll leave young Andreas with the weight of the world on his shoulders as 'living local legend' Gabby chips in with his usual 2/3 goals a year to help him.

Can't we interest Stoke in taking Lambert as a bog cleaner or something instead ?

I'm glad Depeche Mode's new single has come out, as that has taken me away from the depressing news surrounding the Villa

This is PWS reporting from BH. Breaking news, we may sign someone before the transfer window closes. We might even sign more than one player. Although there is also the chance we won't sign anyone. We might also sell someone, but then again we may not.

Now we go back to SSN for more shots of 'Arry Redknapp poking his head through a car window more often than a Balsall Heath hooker.

P.s. Can I have my Pulitzer now please?

Matt Phillips from Blackpool anyone?

A little whisper off someone who's been correct before!

Pace, tricks and a directness that I think weve lacked since young departed

Yes but only after a defensive centre mid and a centre half.

Samba spotted at Villa Park... http://twitpic.com/bzil9b

Bad joke from Mat Kendrick!

Yeah I saw that 'hilarious' tweet, then I unfollowed the prick  >:(

He gets on my nerves too.

Heard anything Maz? I'm massively clutching at straws of hope now and running out of them.

Just that what's been said all along. There's some money there, it's just getting to use it, or getting Lambert to use it that's the problem. My feeling is and has been for a while, that there will be some last minute business and that Lambert is playing some dodgy brinksmanship games with agents and the like.

Getting rid of our most prolific striker because our pathetic manager hasn't a clue how to get the best out of him, something that even Steve Bruce managed This is utterly depressing

Agree with this , natural goalscorer all his career and lambert hasnt a clue how to get the best from him when we have a terrible scoring record.

I'm not having that. He was worse than awful last night, he got the chance that some of you had been clamouring for and was crap for 45 minutes and rightly taken off. I'll accept that because of Benteke we don't play to his strengths, but if he'd not adaptable enough to cope then we're better off without him.

Bent to Stoke makes sense to me. They have money, they need a striker, we need money, hopefully we can make it work at the last minute. Bent against Newcastle should have been the latest in a long line of proofs that he is just not right for us.
I reckon he'd have got a couple in the second half yesterday. Lambert system is utter shit not Bent

Extremely dodgy brinkmanship, especially since we've lost several games now that could have a massive impact on our season.

Do they still have hookers in Balsall Heath? I think you're about 20 years out of date.

We bought bent to play to his strengths , he scored for fun with young and downing supplying him - cant blame him for then being asked to play in an alien system with no service - he leaves with my thanks and good wishes.

Im sick of posting the obvious but get a winger that can cross a ball fast and hard then Bent will get on the end of it 8 times out of ten.

But Mumbles has no intention of buying a winger Och no far too old fashioned so there is no point in keeping Bent is there!

Billy McNeil is the worst manager we have had but Lambert by himself is sucking the life out of this proud club.
