Anyone think there is any truth to the rumour regarding Bent going to Stoke and Kenwyne Jones and money coming the other way?

I think Bent to Stoke might have some legs, but I very much doubt we'll be taking Jones in part exchange.
Upson and Wilson Palacios would be better in exchange.

Lambert Lerner   Wake Up !!!!   You have got no F**King Midfield for a start , we are down If you don't realise that and an extra defender would be handy too.

Do we think they have even bothered to try and make signings?

Think you might be right, John. Especially considering this:

QPR must up bids to land strikers Peter Odemwingie and Peter Crouch

Quote from: Tony Pulis on the possible transfer of Crouch
"QPR have made an inquiry and discussions are ongoing," Tony Pulis, the Stoke manager, said. "That is to say I've taken a phone call from Harry and I've told the player of their interest. We don't want to sell Peter and I believe he is happy here, but if the deal is right for everyone, and that includes us, it could go ahead.

"You can't stop deals going through if everyone wants them to happen, but it has to be right for us in terms of both money, and time to find a replacement. If we let Peter go we will need to bring someone else in, because I am not prepared to put the club at risk. We have 30 points and 14 games left so we are still trying to get over the mark.

I'm more annoyed that we missed out on players like Forren than Samba. We aren't shopping in the same supermarket as QPR (they will throw silly money at it) but we should be buying our groceries in the same place as teams like Southampton surely?

I doubt we're shopping in the same place as anyone in the Premier League to be honest. Probably because of a refusal to pay decent wages. The fact that the manager was forced to get rid of Hutton because of financial reasons and most probably had the same situation with Warnock suggests the powers that be that are far from finished in the cost cutting path they are currently taking.

He wasnt forced to get rid of them for financial reasons - he got rid because he doesnt rate them .

I thought Hutton came out and said he was told it was nothing to do with his footballing ability but because his wages were too high?

SSN just said that Lambert has said that he won't be signing anyone.

He won't but others at the club might, or has he heard he won' be here after 2pm today?

No chance - what they've done this month borders on negligence. They have ignored all ex-players, pundits, fans, journalists etc. calls and pleas for new players with experience. Now look where we are at the end of the window; still, they know best and ''we'll be fine" Utter pricks Lerner, Faulkner & Lambert!

On the Sky Sports Transfer Clockwatch . . .

Aston Villa have today been heavily backed to sign Kenwyne Jones, seeing their price to sign him cut from 8/1 down to 6/4 favourites ahead of Swansea (7/4)

I remember hearing a training ground session story before the start of the season where apparently Hutton had made a run down the line after a pass from Albrighton, which Hutton then ballooned his cross. To which Lambert shouted 'Great pass Marc. Alan, you're fucking shit!' eastie's version sounds more likely to me. Mind you, they could be related if he thinks he is shit and being paid too much
