I'm more annoyed that we missed out on players like Forren than Samba. We aren't shopping in the same supermarket as QPR (they will throw silly money at it) but we should be buying our groceries in the same place as teams like Southampton surely?

I doubt we're shopping in the same place as anyone in the Premier League to be honest. Probably because of a refusal to pay decent wages. The fact that the manager was forced to get rid of Hutton because of financial reasons and most probably had the same situation with Warnock suggests the powers that be that are far from finished in the cost cutting path they are currently taking.

He wasnt forced to get rid of them for financial reasons - he got rid because he doesnt rate them .

Or maybe the senior players are prepared to tell him his tactics are shit ....

Don't get me wrong Hutton and Warnock are no world class players but given how this season is gone to not use them at all ..stupid.

Anyone think there is any truth to the rumour regarding Bent going to Stoke and Kenwyne Jones and money coming the other way? Forgive the tacky headline, it is the Daily Heil:

Get Bent! Stoke offer Jones in exchange for £10m Villa striker after Lambert hauls him off at half-time

Quote
Stoke are leading the chase to sign Darren Bent after the striker was substituted at half-time during Aston Villa's 2-1 loss at home to Newcastle last night.

Potters boss Tony Pulis needs to offload a frontman before he can bring in the England international and he has offered Trinidadian striker Kenwyne Jones as part of a £10million package.

The people I will feel sorry for if we go down, is the staff that are made redundant, and trust me there will be quite a few.

There will be a massive cost cutting excercise!

Can we start with that mumbling chap who stands in a tracksuit on the touchline touching his glasses?

Lambert wasn't forced to get rid of Warnock and Hutton. Or surely he would also have been forced to also get rid of Given, Ireland and N'Zogbia, all of whom probably earn either more then them.

Surely, surely we can get a couple of loans in, at the very least?

We've looked at it but Faulkner doesn't want to pay the 2432% interest rate Wonga were offering.

It's utter insanity getting rid of Warnock if we're not bringing anyone in. We need as many experienced bodies as possible, and our idiot manager genuinely has no idea what he's doing.

I think Bent to Stoke might have some legs, but I very much doubt we'll be taking Jones in part exchange.

There was an interesting interview with Arry a couple of days ago, where he alluded to the fact there seems to be some sort of agent turf war going on, where players are being offered at ridiculous prices. Is this is the case (and who wouldn’t believe Honest Arry), then I suspect given our strict financial conditions that we would not have a cats chance of getting anyone

Of course there is. With the extra telly money coming in, how dare clubs even THINK about things like, I dunno, reducing ticket prices when there's pockets to be lined. Modern football's shit.

Warnock and Hutton aren't the answer.

Or if they are, then I have no desire to hear what the question was!

Flamini would be excellent, obviously, it isn't going to happen.

If we get no games out of Dunne this season then we should go balls-out for the insurance money.

That groin has seen more action than (insert dismissive sexist analogy here)
