Reported yesterday that Dunne has had a setback.

Greggs increased the price of their sausage rolls again?

But again the lack of communication with fans regarding Dunne's situation has been really frustrating.  Surely they can see we've been struggling defensively and that the fans are going to be questioning what is going on with Dunne, yet the same kind of mumbled, unclear lines are repeated in the press.  Why not just come out and be truthful about his injury status?  Yes he is in full training and we could be looking at a matter of weeks, or no he's way off being fit and we need to look at other options in the squad.  At least we as fans would know where we stood.

The Dunne situation is baffling. He was training, I saw pics from a week or so ago of the lads training in the snow and he was clearly there (and looking very trim). PL is asked on Monday about him featuring, says maybe, he'll check on him at training... no sign of him and then post match it's reported he now needs further surgery. Of course, he could have broken down in training Tuesday morning, but.... it all feels very odd. That's him done at Villa, if another (a fourth) op is required.

The report on Irish radio this morning was that he hurt himself the morning of the game. Not looking good for him making a return.

I was just on F365 and they mentioned that Flamini has only made a handful of appearances for Milan this year. If he is anything close to the player he was a few years ago, surely a loan until the end of the season is the obvious choice.

Surely, surely we can get a couple of loans in, at the very least?

I'm more annoyed that we missed out on players like Forren than Samba. We aren't shopping in the same supermarket as QPR (they will throw silly money at it) but we should be buying our groceries in the same place as teams like Southampton surely?

I doubt we're shopping in the same place as anyone in the Premier League to be honest. Probably because of a refusal to pay decent wages. The fact that the manager was forced to get rid of Hutton because of financial reasons and most probably had the same situation with Warnock suggests the powers that be that are far from finished in the cost cutting path they are currently taking.

Instead of all these operations on Dunne, wouldn't it have been better to just remove his groin entirely?

I think it's more Lambert being pig-headed, rather than Dunderhead Lerner's tighteneing of the purse strings.

Either way we're down.

I think between us we've probably come up with 10-20 viable, sensible, relatively low-cost signings who would benefit us at this stage. Does not appear to be happening.

He wasnt forced to get rid of them for financial reasons - he got rid because he doesnt rate them .

The people I will feel sorry for if we go down, is the staff that are made redundant, and trust me there will be quite a few.

There will be a massive cost cutting excercise!

There was an interesting interview with Arry a couple of days ago, where he alluded to the fact there seems to be some sort of agent turf war going on, where players are being offered at ridiculous prices. Is this is the case (and who wouldn’t believe Honest Arry), then I suspect given our strict financial conditions that we would not have a cats chance of getting anyone

Yep Scharner would have done nicely. It's an utter disgrace that our idiot of a manager has done fuck all.

Flamini is ex-Arsenal and a very good player.  I don't remember him ever being at the Sty on loan?

Are you thinking of Hleb?
