As I said last night I am starting to detest Lerner.

Understand last night's humiliation & parlous lge position won't alter @AVFCOfficial's attitude to Jan transfer market.Might not buy 1/2

Tweet from Pat Murphy.

Goodness. Does Lerner have some sort of bet on? You know, clubs of similar size have protested against their ownerships for less, us included when Hellis looked like he was taking us down. How long before we show a bit of that?

He's a fucking idiot, plain and simple.

He's appointed a CEO who is quite clearly way, way out of his depth, and is still in denial with this Ajax model bullshit.

He may have put lots of money into the club, but the way he has managed his asset - or allowed it to be managed - is utterly laughable. Three years of continued decline, and he's just going to sit on his hands, doing nothing.

If he's going to sit in the US watching the odd match on television, then he absolutely MUST get people into the management of the club here who understand the game.

Right now, all he is doing is proving that not only was he a dreadful sports club owner in the US, he's even worse on this side of the Atlantic.

He is indeed an idiot, his ownership is now bordering on gross negligence. If he and those advising him can't see that we are ruined unless he invests some money in the team in the next week, we are finished.

because he knows we are very much in the shit

Because he's probably thinking if he'd turned down Wolves he'd have had this job in a couple of weeks.

dont know why but just watched the coverage that i recorded of last nights game,
Saunders looks absolutly gutted at the end of the match, and like he said he played for both clubs

I noticed that .   It really hurts being a Villa fan at the moment . I bet Shaun Teale has destroyed something.

Sissoko £2.5 million, I'd like an explanation from Aston Villa explaining why we haven't bid for him? There isn't going to be any better value than that around. It's absolutely crazy if we're not in for him.

If we dont beat Barcodes , its goodbye Vienna . I said this before the Wigan game thou and the Soton game and we still keep giving points to the other teams in the shit giving them a lift etc.   We cant keep not winning at home.

Someone at the club needs to wake up.   I honestly thought we would beat Wigan and Soton but I think Barcodes will do us .

Maybe we haven't got 2.25m or the money for his wages? It certainly feels that way.

He's probably waiting for more attractive options.

Maybe we have bid for him, and been told we've got no chance.

Lets be fair, we're not the most attractive proposition at the moment, are we?

Lerner is retarded, that much is a given.
But i'm not so sure Lambert even WANTS to sign some new players, or hasn't a clue on who he could get to improve things.

If we'd bid for a player it's fairly likely that it would have leaked out somewhere, and I strongly suspect we haven't.

Craig Gardner is a blindingly obvious signing. Not the most talented but a bit of grit and presence about him. Good with set pieces, can break into the box and will get stuck in.

Why would he come back to VIlla? He is a Blue Nose and probably wants to play in the Premier League next year.

I think even if there is money there to spend, we will have a serious problem attracting players now as opposed to the start of January, when at least there was the carrot of a League Cup final to dangle. The deeper into January we get, the more depressing the club seems.

We're certainly a far less attractive option than the start of the month, when we could have realistically tempted players with the promise of a Wembley appearance and European competition next season.
