I repeat from earlier Davies and Knight would improve that defence. That is a sad state of affairs of how badly we've been run for a while.

I think unless we change manager we are down anyway.
£23m and hes made a poor team far shitter.

I don't think his signings are the problem, I still maintain we'd make a comfortable profit on them if we sold them in the summer.

It's his tactics that have let us and him down.

The piss take is they would. Put Davies and Knight either side of Vlaar, and Reo Cocker in the midfield, and this would actually be 10 times more solid. Clark is being found out horribly, he can't jump! Vlaar was at fault tonight in fairness, but overall he is better than the others.

In reality Clark is the worst of our 4 centre backs, just dosen't have a defenders instinct at all, Baker has weaknesses but at least he does.

That said it's not something I would criticise Lambert for as a lot of last season and most of pre season I was calling for Clark to be given a run at centre back.

He has and he dosen't look good enough.

Nowhere near. Sad to say, I think he is totally shot in there. He has an eye for goal though, and would make a midfielder.

He seems a bit like Ridgewell in 05/06 who was generally hopeless but chipped in with a goal or two.

After quite a few years Ridgewell has developed into a solid enough full back so wouldn't shock me if same happened there.

Yeah left back wih Bennett left mid might work.

Apparently Lambert said something negative about new signings after the game but can't find quotes.

Lambert needs backing and we need a solid spine of the team. To add to those that have shown promise like Westwood,Guzan,Vlaar,Baker, Lowton,Weimann Nzogbia and Benteke. Then if we survive we need a clear out of those that are past it,aren't good enough and don't care.

Let's just sign the Bradford squad. And the Crewe squad as they beat Bradford so must be close to Barca quality. And the Barnet squad just to be sure.

Sign enough football league players and you eventually become a football league team (it seems).
