It's very depressing i must say. I can't work Lerner out. Either he's genuinely a completely out of his depth idiot when it comes to running a football club, or he just has no interest in us to the point of neglect.

Indeed if he is refusing to invest a few million now, with the prospect of losing a bumper TV and PL package next season looming very large, then it does begin to look like at least one of the above, or possibly both.

If we don't sign anyone we will go down. It's so stark, and so obvious, and Lambert can't be happy with the situation meaning Lerner has to just realise what the situation is, not what he wishes it was.

For what it's worth, I think we'll go down even if we do sign someone (assuming we're not about to splash out on anyone significantly better than what we have). It's possible, but it seems unlikely that someone like, say, Dale Stephens is going to make such a big difference as to hugely improve our performance.

I just think we'll have to rely on Vlaar staying fit and being better than I think he is (I think he's quite good), N'Zogbia coming into form, and Lambert.....well, Lambert just doing MUCH better all round, really.

Doesn't seem too likely, but you never know.

Were 6 points behind 13th place with 16 games to go and you've already got us down? Absolutely crazy! Is this attention seeking internet behaviour because you don't hear this stuff in pubs. Yes people say their worried but not to the extent you read on here or other Villa portals.

And all we ever hear from you is how you're so much more of a better fan than everyone else.

What the fuck are you talking about? Show some examples of this you fucking knob!

Misread this and was just about to get my camera out.....not that I ever know how to post photos on here

Calling him a 'fucking knob' is a mixture of the two.

He made a bizarre accusation for no reason whatsoever, I would class that as the behaviour of a "fucking knob"

It's a fair point. Its been questioned on here if he's a crap businessman who can't see that investing in the team now to get the better tv deals next season and recoop the money is the way to go. I am starting to sway and agree with you and other on here that its nothing like that at all. He is just not interested anymore. He's got other priorities. Has left people in charge to run the club and that's that. This was a play toy, it's not like his whole family wealth relies on whether the club does well or not. If it sinks and he sells at a loss. He shrugs his shoulders and moves on.

The thing that does worry me about Lambert ( and no way was I expected this ) is when we are losing , he just sits there and his face looks like he has just recieved a text saying his wife has been shagging his brother.

but 30 points from the last 38 games is not good neither.

The thing that worries me is that I am beginning to have more faith in Lerner than Lambert. My mates arriving in 10mins to pick me up and I cant work up any enthusiasum for tonights match at all. Still after a few drinks that might change.

Ah well....We go again.

I think it is somewhere between the two Greg.   I think he is an introvert so that whatever his feelings are they will never be revealed.   I think he was very badly knocked back by the O'Neill exit.   I get the feeling that he cannot get his head round the way we regard sport, especially football and what he expected it to be like.   English football is steak tartare and he was expecting a Wendy's burger.   Neither does he get the tribal bit, the ferocious pride and love of the supporters for a shitty corner of the industrial west midlands.

When he bought the club I think he expected the fans to be like the cheering crowds of english people on The Mall waving to the Queen he had seen on american television.

I also suspect that he does not like one on one confrontation and likes the eyeball to eyeball stuff to be done by his employees.   That is where the lack of football genes in Paul Faulkner has let him down.

My son Damon and I spent most of the day on Thursday talking about this issue and we concluded that Randy Lerner is like a jig saw puzzle with a lot of the pieces missing, my metaphor but pretty much what we agreed on.

It's an apt description. Now i admit i'm not an expert on the financial side, but surely if you're a member of some organisation which you know is about to recieve a massive injection of money, you'd try to ensure that short-term you stayed in that organisation to reap the benefits? Borrowing a 100 pounds now, so you're guaranteed to get 10,000 in May seems prudent to me.

Now even if you suffered from a lack of interest in the thing, didn't understand it or any other reason, you'd still see the sense of putting in more money till May surely? Maybe it's us who don't get it and it will in fact be cheaper for Lerner if we're in the Championship. If anyone has a theory on that one then i'm all ears.....

It's not though is it? When someone vents spleen on here you're immediately at them with the name calling and personal abuse, as if they're somehow a lesser supporter than you for being down in the dumps.
