Nice to have you back Ian, hope all is well with you!

Did I see Villa Submariner back on here too, albeit under a different guise?

Good time to all rally round for the cause

Of course there's money.

Good to have you back Ian, hope things are well with you.

Thanks, that's very kind, much better thanks.

So... with your return, and welcome back, what is with the cryptic watching people? Should anyone be worried?

Whoever the manager is, if this squad isn't strengthened we're done for.

the more times you write the same thing every 5 minutes,
the more i hope we dont sign a anyone and prove you wrong

I know what you mean. I reckon a lot of our political beliefs are shaped by arguments we don't like. I was always open to Feminist arguments and used to argue for gender quotas in Irish politics. Then, the more like-minded people I met, and the more radical feminist tweets I read on twitter the more I began to question my views. One person in particular is in danger of turning me into a reactionary. It's like you reach a tipping point with a person where the more they come out with the same arguments the more opposed to them you become.

Slight tangent allowed, it is Friday!

Maybe the answer is to get Mary Harney in the dug-out?

Hung out to dry?

Get Dunne, Vlaar and Bent in quick and we have players that can keep us up but would love a couple in . Lescott and Sissoko would keep us up.   I mean on their day , Bent , Ireland , Nzogbia, Gabby and Dunne should be good enough to keep you in the prem but those dys seem to have gone.

Before Lambert contemplates bringing players in, he has got to decide on a formation going forward and then plan accordingly.  With Dunne and Vlaar back, we might return to a 3-5-2 with Vlaar and Clark / Baker either side of Dunne, and Lowton and Bennett wing-backs (though we may need another option in that position).  With the decent forward options we have, we might only really need a couple of central midfielders if we go with that formation.  Obviously if he sees us playing another formation going forward then the required personnel will change.

She could do a job in defence I reckon.

Just back from a hazardous drive home from work- is it worth asking if we have  signed or been linked with anyone today?

Calm down, everyone! Any news that is coming out of the cluub that isn't a signing is being read into in such enormous detail. It was simply a bog standard pre-match press conference and there nothing wrong with these comments from PL. What's he supposed to say? "If we don't sign anyone then we are going down"? That may or may not turn out to be the case but there is no way he could even entertain saying such a thing in a press conference. All he is doing there is saying that he would do his best with the existing squad if we were not able to get anyone else in.

Good points, Tom; as long as all the key players stay fit ...

I take what Lambert says with a pinch of salt, he's hardly about to say 'we're screwed if we don't sign anyone, because this lot are shite' is he?

24 hour news has a lot to answer for.

At this point I'd be happy with Chimbonda on loan...
