I'd be surprised if they weren't doing anything.

£250K a week? Really? Fuck me.

For that much money, it's worth considering. Would you at least shave and dress like a girl?

Greg, my support for OGS was that it was an imaginative move.   It was a move filled with potential, potential for  success and potential for abject failure.    Lambert was chosen because he was regarded as a more conventional, safer option but he has delivered abject failure and we never had the chance of the success a radically different choice would have given us.

I compare it to a marriage.   Would you sooner have a wife with big tits and a pretty face who can't cook and is not too hot on housework or a wife with a flat chest and a face like Savo who can cook and is always cleaning the house.   Odds are that you would choose the latter because she is safer long term bet and you would still be eating nice dinners long after your dick had become a mere waterspout.

But what if I put it to you that you pass up on the one with big tits and a bum like Kylie Minogue and the one you marry is not only a flat chested minger but she can't cook and is a slut into the bargain.

My own highly personal view is that we never got to know what OGS might have done but we sure as f*ck know what Lambert has done.

:) :) :)

Why would a Manager resign just to let another clown get money to spend.
Stick with it, Paul Lambert. Stay away, Di Matteo. Get your finger out, Randolph Lerner.

Is the right answer

Alright Baz, where have you been?

Just because the potential appointment of OGS was an adventurous one doesn't mean it would have been a successful one. Venglos was an example of how taking risks doesn't work. It's easy to say that it would be hard to do worse than Lambert because at the moment it's true. With 2 or 3 additions & some luck with injuries we will be OK. But it will be close, much too close for a club like ours.

No way of knowing for sure. Some risks pay off, some don't. I'm not sure there's any formula to it. I certainly can't criticise the board's appointment of Lambert even though I was excited about the potential of OGS.

What I'd like to know is who put Lerner and Faulkner in the direction of OGS? It was a pretty imaginative idea for two people who we presume know next-to-nothing about the game.

I presume at some point today Lambert will be having a press conference ahead of tomorrow's game so he'll no doubt get asked about any transfer activity. Let's hope he has some encouraging news.

Sneijder for 6 mil is worth a shout as dutchman is saying wants to okay in England and prepared to make a wage cut so we can cope with financial reason. He plans on next move for footballing reasons so could be difficult if other offers but making him main man and captain in middle would be a revelation and real coup. At the end of the day Liverpool are linked with him and we outbid them for dempsey.. Think a signing like this and then a o'hara type player would be way to go

Why would we need Sneijder when we have Delph?

Pretty sure along what lines it will go.

Sneijder to Villa would be the modern equivalent of Tommy Lawton moving to Notts County.

replace "we may do something" with "we're trying to get one or two in" and I think you're mostly right.

He's hardly going to spill the beans at a pre-match interview. I'd rather they kept anything as quiet as they can, rather than do a 'arry. Just because Sky Sports or Twitter ain't got wind of anthing doesn't mean nothing is happening (but it does'nt mean anything is either...!).

It would be the equivalent of Scarlett Johansson moving to my navel.
