Riise, yes please.
A back 4 of Lowton Vlaar,Dunne and Risse looks pretty good to me.

Couldn't agree more, Riise would be a quality signing. The years of us having one of the meanest defences in the league seem like an eternity ago right now.

Having tried Vlaark, Vlaker, Claker and (the ultimate) Clakerd as defence combinations, perhaps Vlunne will be the best combination for the rest of the season.

I think dunne is a long way from coming back, he may start training this week but will still probably need 3 or 4 weeks at least to get even close to match fitness considering how long hes been out.

Riise would make sense and allow Bennett time and space to develop. Either that or we move for Cavanda.
Sissoko is exactly the sort of player we need to shore up the midfield. I dont know much about Stephens but his main plus point seems to be his passing ability and workrate which we could also do with so get him in.
Then another centre half to guard against another crisis there. Maybe Douglas as he shouldnt cost too much with being free in the summer. Or maybe go for Hangeland.
Those four should be within budget. If Randy feels like letting the restraints go a little more then an attacking midfielder/forward like Coutinho would be great and give us more of a threat. As well as create more excitement for long suffering fans.

Would be great.

You're just gong to be even more disappointed when none of the above happens.  Stop torturing yourselves.

Oh of course. But he's not as shit as we have been, therefore (if fit) would improve us. Who knows if it would be enough, but he'd improve us.

Have we tried stapling a sausage roll to the football?  I reckon he would never lose sight of the ball then, and he'd be the fastest player on the pitch

Cn't see Dunne coming in, he doesn't play Ireland, Bent, Given, Warnock, Hutton, so dont see why he'd put Dunne in.  I think it'll be Vlaar with one of Baker or Clark for the rest of the season.  Dunne's off in the summer anyway.

He's not though. Prone to the odd fudge-up sure but he's also the only leader we have who can organise that defence.

I wouldn't worry about the pies and Guinness. I just hope he hasn't been smoking too much over the past 6 months.

Not that we need another striker but Sunderland are allowing Saha to leave

That would rank alongside bringing Barton in  ::)

Surely he's not that bad?  ??? Given the choice, I'd take Saha over Barton
