Delph Bannan and Herd are all better players than NRC,

would NRC make a difference to the midfield, yes, he would make it worse

I wouldn't want NRC back but but he's he's better than any of those muppets you mention. Delph, Bannan and Herd aren't fit to wear a Villa shirt. They're part of the reason why we are so rotten at the moment.

I apologise Dave but certain fans are verging on enjoying our plight. Pulling our manager to pieces isn't the answer.

No Villa fan is enjoying our predicament at the moment. To suggest it is just madness. It's fucking horrible.

You must be joking on Herd. He can barely kick the ball straight - he never has been a Premier League player.

All those who rubbish Reo-Coker - who are these mythical alternatives from the continent or here who are going to cost very little and hit the ground running for a side that has absolutely no direction on the pitch at the moment.

You want some direction on the pitch yet argue for a player who gives none.
Players who are better or more suitable for us currently are far from mythical.
What about going for Moussa Sissoko for instance? Or Diame?

Please dont talk of Reo Coker as a "hit the ground running premier league player" because he's currently surplus to requirements at Ipswich.

There was a time when I thought NRC did OK for Villa but having watched his recent display against us,I thought it was the most inept midfield performance at VP this season which takes some doing .

Back on track... Were trying to arrange a fee for Liam Bridcutt.. Highly rated defensive midfielder for Brighton.

Herd is DMF, not a CB. Delph is an AMF not a DMF. Bannan is lightweight.
I don't think any of them are muppets; I think they could become useful squad players with the right blend of experience.
NRC isn't a player that would provide the right type of experience., IMO.

i wasnt at the Ipswich match although i did watch it on line, so my impression of how good NRC was is a bit limited, but others who were there say he wasnt great, but be that as it may,
i was there on saturday and Delphs performance especially in the second half was better than anything i ever saw from NRC the whole time he was with us

as ever its just opinions, and mine of NRC is exceptionaly low, but in my view i would not swap any of the3 players mentioned for reo coker

Theres a difference of opinion about NRC on all forums as there is about Agbonlahor.

I wonder if come 1st of Feb and we havent bought anyone and are still losing someone will post.

'Well we could have got NRC to the end of the season on cheap wages ...and then someone will remind him

Arrys got him in 31st Jan.

Only joking chaps but its probable we may have to settle for a promising kid from Accrington Stanley or some club of that status.

Lamberts scottish and as he will not resign he will tough it out. For our sakes I hope his luck changes.

But as I keep saying. Its  down to Darren Bent to save us.Hes done it in the past he can do it again if Lambert finds us a winger who can go past people at speed and cross fast and hard.

But he will not consider that option far too old fashioned!

NRC is an average player, but he is different to what we have and we need some physical presence in there. Maybe Herd?

Sounds as if he's a decent player by this -

Poyet fears that Bridcutt has become highly sought-after and insists he would even hold his own at Spanish giants Real.

"Yes I am worried by Liam's performance. Other clubs can ask about him because it's part of the game," the Seagulls manager said.

"If I was coach of Real I would take him because he deserves to go to the highest level.

"As a holding midfielder, there is no better player in the division. So he is quite expensive.

"The best thing about Liam is that he understands me to an incredible level. The way he understands what I want from him is spectacular."

Brighton are one win away from the play-offs in the Championship and Poyet has ruled out offloading their best players.

"Now that we are at the same level as the rest of the teams that everyone is talking about, our players are expensive, I don't put prices on them but we're not a selling team anymore."

Newcastle's early exit from the FA Cup is compounded by a troubled Premier League campaign that has left them only two points above the relegation zone.

Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner will resist the urge to make any panic buys in the January transfer window, despite the club's precarious position, according to the Press Association.

The American has spent over £200milion since taking charge of the club six years ago and has already funded manager Paul Lambert with £23million over the summer.

Lerner accepts that some cash will have to be made available to help Lambert's fight against relegation - Villa slipped into the bottom three following the weekend's 1-0 loss to Southampton.

Lambert has indicated he would like to bring in "one or two signings" during January but has nothing but praise for Lerner's financial support for Villa.

He said: "I always speak to Randy. I've always had a good relationship with him.

"If you look at the years he's been here, I don't know how much money he has put in but it's a lot of money.

"If a couple of players come in during January, then great. But you can't fault Randy for what he's done for this club, that's for sure.

"January always gives you an opportunity to bring people in.

"Listen, we have conversations all the time and it would be wrong for me to say there is 'X' amount available.

"You can work with what you've got and if one or two come in, then great. As I said on Friday, we will try and do something."

Lambert remains confident Villa will survive and preserve their record of 25 successive years of top flight football.

He said: "Do I still think Villa will be safe? Yes. Because? I just do. I said that from day one. I just do.

"If you look at the middle of that table, there is not much in it. There are about eight or nine teams all close."

NRC is a classic example of just what we are trying to get rid of - overpaid, disinterested, aging players with  over inflated opinions of what they are worth - thanks to the blood sucking agents who are taking money out of the game in evergrowing volumes - this money should be going to the grass roots  at schools and junior football ... as you may have guessed it makes my p*** boil.
