I think we need to pick a front two from Benteke, Bent and Weimann every week. All three will hopefully score goals. The harder part is then making the other nine players at least functional by buying a centre-half, left-back and centre-mid with experience.

On the plus side, Westwood and Lowton look decent and Delph and N'Zog seem to be improving.

Sorry, all a bit obvious I know. Just trying to get my head straight as it's spinning a bit at the moment.

@StanCollymore: Can someone in authority come out and say what the plan is at Villa pls. I'm struggling to see anything other than a white flag right now.

It's about time people like Collymore had more of a go at the people who are running our club into the ground. Until recently it was the usual cliche bullshit, "squad of young and hungry players", and "roller coaster season of up and downs", and "he's building for the future". When in reality Lerner has being quietly dismantling the club  and preparing for the the Championship for more than 3 years now.
Why has it taken them so long to see through the lies?

What a ridiculous statement, why on earth would anyone actually plan to fail?

I suspect we'll sign a couple of players this week. However what is infuriating is that we seem to do everything in a reactive manner. In the summer it took getting played off the park by Everton to realise we needed to sign players and now it's losing to Bradford and Southampton. The board/management just don't seem to have a clue that our squad is clearly inadequate. We've also wasted time and a couple of players could easily have been enough for us to beat Southampton yesterday.

Lowton and Westwood have promise but thats about it. Lowton was desperate in the first half yesterday, the game totally bypassed Westwood. Think they both need time out of the time but our options are limited.

If yesterday is an indication of Nzogbia improving........... :(

That's the way i see it, Westwood is a decent squad player, Lowtoni s trying to do too much and i thought Nzog was terrible, where has his talent gone, we looked better when he was taken off, Gabby gave us better balance.

I like Lowton. He's been mostly a bright spot. Arguably that's largely down to how poor we were at RB last season. But for me, Lowton has been overworked. He's making sloppy errors, and being young, the dire organisation and the other 3 having no idea what they're doing, only compounds matters. There's no leader amongst the kids and they need 1-2 in that back line to just keep things tighter.
The trouble is though, Lowton needs a few games out to rest and think about his game a bit, but there's no one to step in.

To be fair, most of us we're saying that after the Liverpool game.

It wouldn't make a difference though would it?

Guardiola: "OK guys let's press press press and when we win the ball, keep it short and to feet".

AVFC Squad: "...................."

Agree with both quotes.
I think the biggest thing is that our options are limited.
How can you prepare for the injuries to the experienced players.
