In total desperation last night I thought the unthinkable which is bringing Hutton and Warnock back into the first team , am I the only one?

Lambert was asked this apparantley and he said no.

If we have no real money for replacements and no way of selling them, than this is ridiculous.

I'm not writing our young full backs off at all, but in some matches this year they would have been better subbed.

I think Lowton has been good though overall and he's better than Hutton. Bennett if anybody looks like he needs taking out the firing line though.

Hutton was training with the kids yesterday , lambert seems a bit stubborn like mon in that way , I can't see Hutton or warnock figuring again under him.

The thing that worries me is every time I've seen him questioned about relegation he seems to say "we"ll be fine" , whereas others like redknapp , Adkins, Martinez accept they are in a scrap and need to fight tooth and nail .

From the mail article I think if lambert does stay he is going to be having to look at loan deals , sadly without decent money to be spent I really cannot see him having much chance of turning this around .

We do have Hutton , warnock and maybe a recall option on makoun but lambert has made clear none of those will be considered .

It's widely known a so called itk predicted a week ago that Lerner was having serious doubts about lambert and for that reason wasnt giving him the money , he also predicted that today's game would be the tipping point and that Rdm was the top target in the summer and the long delay was waiting to see if Chelsea kept him or not , now rdm is available it may well be that randy is interested in him again - for what it's worth it was also said that rdm will be financially backed by randy .

Could of course all be bollocks but maybe it could be possible though - I think this is a huge game for lambert and we need a performance today - I hope we get the win and randy decides to give lambert the cash , but I fear the worst.

Christ, Eastie, you're the most gullible person on the Internet. "It is widely known" - ie you posted it here - "that a so called itk said" - that some teenage dope on a power trip on twitter says - that all of a sudden, we've got money to give a new manager.

Swansea have (reportedly) made a bit of £7m for Tom Ince.

He's very mature for his age, an accomplished player who has really developed since moving to Blackpool with alot of raw potential. We really should be looking at signing him.

Lerner must spend that's as simple as that. Even he can't be stupid enough to want to miss that TV deal.

Don't bet on it....he's presided over the decline of the club since August 2010 and nearly all of his decisions have been awful, so the job is nearly complete for relegation in May.

If O'Nell signs Moussa Sissoko I think I'll cry.

Warnock I'd certainly put back in over Bennett. In many ways I feel sorry for Warnock. I think the decline started with Houllier and the culmination of other managers dropping him has destroyed his confidence. Don't forget he edged out Baines in the 2010 World Cup squad such was his impressive club form. Just shockingly handled by crap management in my opinion.

It's my opinion mate, which I'm entitled to - isn't that what these boards are for? So your happy with events since August 2010 and that Mr Lerner s doing a great job?

That's quite black and white thinking. There are shades of grey inbetween (about fifty of them if the book is to be believed).

I did'nt say he was doing a great job but i don't think all of his decisions have been awful either.

In the situation we find ourselves this sort of attitude is utterly ridiculous, he should consider ALL options. He just strikes me that he is a clone of MON but even worse for his stubborness! God help us all, relegation beckons!

I've had to have a read back through the thread otherwise i'd have missed all the fun and games! If i'd have logged in an hour from now i'd have pottered along in blissful ignorance...

It would be no problem at all to post the article up, but the reason I link to it is because the site is a start-up and the figures help attract prospective backers, I guess. For what it's worth, my colleague seanthevillain and I don't recieve any money at all for our work - we do it to expose our work to a wide audience and because we're huge Villa fans who want to write considered, intelligent stuff that goes some way to opposing the general low opinion of the media in general of the Villa. As a side issue, our editor asks us to post links to our articles on Villa forums; we post only here because generally people know what they're talking about and react, rather than try and outdo one another on other forums.

I'm sorry if I have transgressed: to break house rules isn't my thing. If there's a format the mods are happier with Sean and I would be willing to follow. If it's a consolation, then pickourteam is Premier League only - if Villa drop, then I guess we would too.

In terms of the content, I'm not looking for apologies. I'd like to know why Hawkeye thinks it's badly written given my editor, a current broadsheet journalist, doesn't hold that opinion. Criticism's only useful to me if learn something - if it's just an insult, I'm likely to follow the same line just to be perverse. I will say that some of my opinions on Villa find themselves in H&V occasionally, under my actual name. I wonder if it's the style that's really winding you up or the method of delivery?

Put simply, I won't be stopping writing and i'm not going to cry. I've been a writer for nearly a decade and i've taken hits that have hurt more than that. The worst of it is that I do it because I love the club as much as any fan and this small part of my own time is what I want to share. If that's going to meet with criticism because some are having a bad day then I guess it makes me love being a part of the Villa family slightly less.

Personally, I thought it was a good read, mate.
I actually posted it on AVillafan.com, so I'll probably get a bo***cking for you  ;D under the 'Is Lamberts plan workig' thread.
Think it was received well.

The only way we relate to 50 Shades of Grey is all the spankings we've been getting. ;)

I Fancy Randy has pulled the rug,Just waiting for Lambert to fall.

So do I , defeat today I think would see lambert go and di Matteo in , If that were the case I could see why randy hasn't given lambert money but would expect any new manager to be given funds to get us out of this mess.
No no no for lots of reasons. Lambert is here to stay even if we get relegated. RDM is shit. If Randy sacks Lambert he is in to £6m compensation claim. There will definitely be no money for the new coach.
