If we do have a fair chunk in the kitty it would be pretty stupid for Lambert to come out with "I'm after a boatload of players and have a fortune to spend"

Nobody's asking him what he's got to spend but he seems to be the one who is highlighting the finance issue each time he's asked which maybe implies he's not being given much ?

@thegoalzone: Villa boss Paul Lambert says he has a couple of players in mind to sign but it will depend on finance

I thought the finance was sorted out during randys meeting with him at new year ?

THat's encouraging, he's not going to come out and say we have a load of money is he. I suspect he does have the finance.

Which possibly makes it less likely clubs will try and fleece us over fees if they think we can't up our offers much.

If so lets get on with it, we can't afford to drop points while waiting for new signings.

I agree with that, it should be done asap.

Uncle Harry going back in for Olssen, Danny graham ' good player you'd like to have him , belongs to Swansea, gallas good player but he belongs to spurs , I like him "

Olssen or gallas would be interesting , although Harry seems to think Olssen wants a move to London.

Olssen is a good player. If they rejected 6 mill though, it's too much for him. But he'd be a player who'd improve our back line.
I think sadly, HR is gonna make 2-3 decent signings and players seem to want to play for him so some may take a drop into a relegation scrap.

Lambert has to start moving to keep up. Reading and Southampton won't have much to spend. Nor will Wigan but Martinez has pulled them out of it the last couple of years, so I wouldn't bet against him again.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is competing with LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls for Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne.

Republic of Ireland centre-backv Dunne has not played since Euro 2012 following surgery on a long-term hip problem, but hopes to return to training within the fortnight.

The 33-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Redknapp is a long-standing admirer of Dunne's, and tried to sign the
Irishman for Spurs four years ago.

I don't know , saints have been linked with coutinho at £10m and a couple of other expensive players, I think their owners would spent a fair bit

Reading have money but don't think they will spend big .

Nah ! Do we have any ideas on who he is looking at or is it all top secret again ?
