It's gone quiet on that Norweigan chap, Forren or whatever his name was. His club said he was in talks with another club but nothing's been said since.

A Norwegian work contact of mine (who is also a massive Villa fan) was telling me last week that Forren is unbelievably promising, and it would be a coup to get him.

Sounds good, but he'll have been scouted elsewhere if he's a promising as he sounds unfortunatley but you never know.

Given the players left I can't understand how our wages could be that high

Given
Bent
Dunne
Warnock
Hutton
Gabby

Are surely the only ones left on really high wages.

I think they've said they're happy where they are now, so I guess it's more a matter of not letting them get out of control again.

But then look at it again and think what value we've got for those high wages this season?

Apologies if this is mentioned recently in this thread as no time to read everything but I see Sky interweb saying Sunderland favorite to land 'out of favour' 'Milner.
In my opinion if there's even a sniff of him being available should move heaven and earth for him.

won't happen :(

We won't attract quality if the rumour of a £40k a wage week ceiling is correct. Everton have managed to sign quality and will have to be paying decent wages to get them. I do worry about the financial mess we may be in and the fingers have to be pointed to Faulkner and Lerner. Everton's turnover must be a fair bit less than ours?

Petrov
Makoun

At least part of Makoun's salary should be paid by Rennes and I'd imagine that insurance should cover Petrov's salary.

The club possibly can't be so skint that they couldn't pay salaries for 3-4 players for six months since Dunne and Warnock (both probably 40-60k) leaves next summer so their wages are freed for the next season.

Has anyone calculated how much club would lose money next season if we're relegated?

Agreed with comments on Makoun and Petrov.

Rough figures

Given - 65
Bent - 65
Dunne- 60
Gabby 50
Warnock 45
Hutton 30
Nzogbia 40

£19mil A Year

Old article so figures would be higher now with new TV deal

I'm sure N'Zogbia would be on more than that.

It's critical that Randy invests or we will go down and we'll lose a lot more money.

You'd hope that two people heavily involved in finance would be able to see the answer to what is essentially a very basic math question.

I'm sure N'Zogbia would be on more than that.

I doubt it at Wigan he would have been on £20k max as that is their cap doubling his wage should of been enough.

I did leave out Ireland in the list thats another 60k

I'm confident that the situation will be resolved in the next week .
