Now onto something even more ridiculous how about Wesley Sneijder on loan till the end of the season.
We couldn't possibly afford him because of his wages but a loan till the end of the season, gets him playing again and in the shop window.

I know its stupid but at least it gets it back onto topic!

You notice a lot of stories and rumours like that emerging in times when you're down as you'll get more people believing you.

Eastie, if Lerner lacked faith in him, then he'd have sacked him.

Maybe he will If we get trounced on Saturday . It would then very much be a case of back me or sack me and by backing him we are in need of far more than £10m.

I would say to get the 3 or 4 players we need would cost £20m plus in the current market.

There is so little information shared by the club that we cling on to any kind of rumour. It's no wonder we're all getting so frustrated by it all. It does make me think there are internal politics going on as to what they should do in this window.

The fact that Lambert can't even say something like ' we have had a number of long term injuries and we recognise that the young players need a bit of help. We are working together to see if we can address that' does really piss me off.

The whole communication vacuum is disrespectful to the fans who are all deeply worried as to where we are going to end up this season.

It's gone quiet on that Norweigan chap, Forren or whatever his name was. His club said he was in talks with another club but nothing's been said since.

Sissoko for 3.5 million is a steal. Should be all over that and Olsen.

Albion have turned down uncle Harry's £5m bid for Olsen - seems Clarke is desperate to keep him.

You've got to remeber two years ago when he signed Bent he probably already had the Young to Man U deal lined up for the end of the season, was in credit from the Milner sale and knew he had Downing that he could get a few bob for in the summer too, and hey ho look what happened.  The difference now is there is no-one to shift to balance the books, as Bent's injuries have caused his value to decrease significantly.  Just speculating like.

i actually think lambert has his targets but they may take some time (Lescott in particular) and he is prepared to wait for them.  I know we all want experience in now, but if he could go with the 11 from Anfield, with Herd dropping back in at the back, then we should have enough to see off Southampton (I know, I know......)

Di matteo is a significantly worse manager than Lambert in my opinion.

Lambert is the worst manager we've had in over 30 years, how on earth would RDM do any worse?

Worse than Graham Turner? Or McNeill?

His record so far is as bad. Obviously the season isn't over yet, but if he takes us down he'll be classed as even worse than those two muppets.

So, in other words, currently not the worst manager we've had in thirty years.

A Norwegian work contact of mine (who is also a massive Villa fan) was telling me last week that Forren is unbelievably promising, and it would be a coup to get him.

I have no problem with that if he is, but I'm sure others on here will.

We didn't have many assets to sell on when he sanctioned a spend of £25m in the summer.  I think it's more of a case of only splashing out when there is a clear sell on value after the amount of players who we've paid good money for and then have left on a Bosman.

Given the players left I can't understand how our wages could be that high

Given
Bent
Dunne
Warnock
Hutton
Gabby

Are surely the only ones left on really high wages.

@MatKendrick: For those asking, we'll try to get a proper update on Ron Vlaar's fitness at tomorrow's press conference. We've asked, but got vague replies

That's about 300k a week for those players, is that correct?
