A German threshing machine may prevent those we play becoming Villa thrashing machines.

Just checking further, Gallas, Carragher and Upson are all also available in the summer. Any one of those three on a short deal and nominal fee now would help us.

Jesus.  Gallas, Carragher and Upson. How desperate things have things become?

Jesus would be good right now

He'd be hopeless...he no good on crosses.

Well we do need a miracle

So MON has finally realised that you can sign players from abroad. Just when I think I can't hate him anymore. Grrr...

He must have spotted him while scouting Scott Carson.

Don't (David) geddi(s)t.

Whats Owen Hargreaves up to? He'd be useful if kept fit.

According to Wikipedia he's been training with QPR but remains unsigned. Not a bad shout but I'd say he's too much of a risk with his injury record.

Well if were going for a has been, I'd still go for Mellberg, still playing for div 2 Spain, best player on the pitch against England in the Euro's only a few months ago, so can't be to shabby,
Loads of experience, knows and loves Villa,

What a sight to see him leading out the young players and Helping them and guiding them through the second half of the season to safety, no doubts about him caring as he would give his right arm to help out in a player plus defensive coach type roll for say 18 months

And shoving them up the arses of fourth division forwards for their temerity in threatening the goal he was defending!

He'd fit right in with Vlaar, Bent, Dunne, Albrighton et al, then...

I think signing douglas permanently and loaning an older player would be perfect, Carvalho - not getting a game and has been linked to QPR so should be possible.

Carvalho would be a good shout, though I'm still not keen on him for that tackle on Gabby a few years back.

I maintain that he was the reason Chelsea were so good 05/06. He covered terry's mistakes quickly, read the game well and closed down the opposition so that they could never get a shot at 25 yards. In fact, I'd bite your hand off for Carvalho.

I saw sicknote Dyer was released by QPR today as well. Play for pay deal, 2 grand a week, if he want's to salvage his reputation he'd be mad to turn that down.

Things are a bit dire at the moment but we don't need Kieron.
