I can't imagine they'll let anyone go before Ivory Coast are out of the African Nations Cup. How about Rodwell though?

He's injured until the new year.  Just signed him for Villa on Football Manager funnily enough.   Him,Owen Hargreaves and Tommy Hitzlesperger on a 6 month contract.

I'm wasted working in Credit Control.

It is the New Year! Or do you mean New Year 2014?

Sorry, I meant early new year. I.E March. He did his hamstring.

what would we get for Bent anyway? TSM and lambert have hardly played to his strengths. His value has plummeted and probably the only clubs who could afford his wages wouldn't want him

Graham Dorrans has been told he can leave the Stripeyfilth.  Worth a punt I'd say.

Never quite sure why he hasn't got a game lately, was very good a couple of years ago.

Don't think I could quite put up with their fans singing about us buying one of their 'rejects'.

Doesn't work hard enough is what I was told, if that's the case can't see him suiting Lambert.
Work with a lot of Albion fans. He was fantastic for them in the season they got promoted, and big things were expected from him in the Premier League, as he pissed all over everything in the Championship that season. (Bar Newcastle, who walked the league). During the off season though, he had some personal issues which may have been down to a bereavement and took a while to get over it. Since then has been very hit and miss. All too infrequent glimpses of the quality he does possess.

Nowhere near what we paid for him, but also nowhere near what we could have lost had we got relegated that season

Dorrans & Whitts would improve the midfield.

Thanks for the kind words guys-  appreciate it.

Last few months have been a tough time and I think the comment hit a raw nerve , and an accident at work too has left me with a lot of time on my hands , hence I've been on here a lot recently , this site has been a very welcome distraction and I value it greatly.

Dorrans since they came up has been in and out of the side, Brunt appears to have got the better of their battle now. Decent footballer, but as Chris says I can't see his work rate pleasing Lambert, although Ireland does bugger all much of the time and still gets on the pitch every now and again to remind us what we are missing.

I would like Whittingham back. He is a good player that can create and score goals. Lovely left foot.

Sorry about your news Eastie, hang in there pal.

'Our man in Germany' must have a couple of off the radar types we can bring in,which would be better value than what we can get over here. I know we could do with some players with English experience, but the names being dished around on here don't fill me with too much confidence.

Dorrans would be good if we shifted Ireland, as he plays in the behind the strikers type role that Ireland is currently standing in, blaming everyone else for losing the ball. For me the urgency is to get some presence in midfield.

In addition to my post above, I asked the Albion fan who sits by me what happened with Dorrans, and the bereavement I referred to was his son passing away. If that doesn't knock you about I don't know what will.

Don't think you could ever be the same after that.

Agreed. I'd also rather go for the promise of something great than the known average quantity.
It's a) more exciting and b) potentially more rewarding.
