augamayang looks a perfect fit for what we need, he'd be an excellent signing.

wanyama would be very good as well, I've heard decent things about templeton but haven't seen him.

Frimpong is the right kind of player but I'm not sure he's the right choice.

All of those are worth going for and are the type of player I think Lambert would consider.
In a weird way that is why I still have hope as MON would never sign such players, whereas lambert might and randy has proven that he's prepared to throw money at the problem.

yeah still gutted he turned down the offer of taking Falco but I will move on :(

Wanyama

With him we could double his wages (from hmmm 30k to 60k?) and he'd be here in a flash.  I think we can afford that.
He didn't want to sign for us when he was a nobody playing in mid-table in Belgium. I don't think he'd be 'here in a flash' now that he's scoring against Barcelona and being targeting by ManYoo.

In spite of what DCF's always accurate sources say.

I do not know who or what DCF's sources are.  Regardless at 20, he was wise to go somewhere where he'd get games, now I think he'll be looking to test himself in one of the top leagues in the world.

If man u match our "double your money - maybe triple it - offer" then so be it.

To be fair, I don't think he would leave Celtic for us anyhow, they are involved in the quarters of the champions league, and play in front of a much bigger crowd each week. The league might not be as good, but as a footballer with no loyalty to Villa, leaving the first team at Celtic to come here would be a tough ask. I was merely stating I would like him, he always looks a good player.

Yeah I remember him saying he wasn't interested in Villa.

Some experienced quality is really needed. Our side right now is just too young. It seemed to be clicking until the last week, but as shown, the consistency isn't going to be there. I worry about our resoluteness. When we're holding firm at the back we look decent defensively, but once things begin unravelling, things go to shit very quickly. We've shipped far too many goals. 12 goals in two games is ridiculous. We looked like San Marino going up against Spain in a Euro qualifier. Not good at all.
You really need a solid spine of reliable, experienced players in this league to succeed and even in some cases, survive. Players who can pull the rest of the team along by the scruff of the neck sometimes, or organise a backline when it's in danger of capitulating.
Shipping heavy quantities of goals isn't good. It effects the confidence, makes us look bad. It's not a one off either, like the 7-1 to Chelsea in O Neill's last season. We were twonked by Southampton and Man City too, whilst Everton could easily have battered us more.
We go into a must win Wigan game very shaky. You have to fancy them now. A week ago it looked a very winnable game. Now, not so.

Definitely not - I expect Wigwam to come at us like an express train to try and get a couple of early goals. If we concede, we're done.

Moussa Sissoko jumps out from that list, I'd guess a champions league club might be looking though.
Isco at Malaga looks a superb player, he's be a huge upgrade on Ireland.
They have us as interested in Gouffran, he'd be a good signing from what I've seen.
Having watched a few videos, the south americans they've listed all look like excellent players, Bernard in particular looks like he could be a superstar in the making.

Frimpong is a decent player. Not the experience we're looking for but he'd do a good job.

Moussa Sissoko is the best option available to do that role and all the rumours are that Newcastle are the only side really chasing him (there were some rumours of arsenal being interested but that seems to have gone quiet and if they did go for him you'd think that would make frimpong a clear option) so we'd have a decent shot.

Dragged off at half time for Charlton on Saturday, as they lost at home to Ipswich, and he was subbed the game before when they lost at Sheff Wed.

Doesn't look likely to hit the ground running for us, does he?

Frimpong looked good a couple of years ago but he hasn't really developed and looks a shadow of the player he was when he broke through.

Lambert says' this clubs had load of experienced players and they haven't done that well, experienced players don't always get you where you want to be '
