weimann's had a few good games but I think he is a very limited player in truth. would love to be proved wrong obviously

bannan, delph, albrighton etc have all have very good games but never do it consistently. remember david pleat saying albrighton would be playing for england very soon when he first broke into the side. but dont think any of them really have enough to make it as a decent player in a good EPL side.

5 in 7 isn't and some absolute quality finishes from a natural finisher, limited he is not and is very much good enough. Weimann

Albrighton seemed to lose all confidence after he got ill in his first season and has never been the same since at all.

Bannan looks like he could make it to me recently.

Weimann has everything he needs to have a very decent career in the premier league.

As for midfield players I always like the look of the guy who I can't pronounce or spell the name of at Celtic.

We were linked with a guy at Boro in the summer too, Williams maybe?

The Augymang guy looks like he has some quality and could be a really useful addition if we could get him. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, you do. Its pronounced as in Wan (one) yam (yam yam country) a.

I've seen him a few times too and he's top quality. It would be a hell of a coup for us to sign him but I think he's destined for bigger things than what we can currently offer.

Domestically the only other of the type that I know of is Frimpong but there's bound to be a lot abroad. The French seem to produce that type of player on a conveyor belt.

It is the type we need. Maybe even a couple of them to be brutal to what we have. Frimpong I think is a super player and would be a top signing for us fitness permitting.

Agreed but we also have to become more dynamic. There's so little creativity offered from the midfield and we always seem to have the lesser of the possession against most teams.

Huddlestone was about to go to Stoke at the start of August but failed a medical.
Yes he did. At 6' 3" he was 3" short of Stoke's minimum height requirement!

Moves are afoot for Victor Wanyama (Celtic) and David Templeton (Rangers) according to my source north of the border.

I don't know anything about Templeton but if we got Wanyama, I would be over the moon.

Sorry. Just realised you had already put it on. There are rave reviews about Templeton.

Wanyama

With him we could double his wages (from hmmm 30k to 60k?) and he'd be here in a flash.  I think we can afford that.  Whereas we could sign Milner and it would be as if he's doing us a favour to drop his wages (despite the fact he'd get the rest from Man City).

Fuck it sign both.

Agree with that, which is why we could probably do with two midfielders in the window.  Whether we play 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1, the shape of the midfield is going to be pretty much the same - two defensive midfielders and an attacking midfielder in front of them.  We need a strong ball winning type to fill one of the defensive midfielder positions and a creative player who can link things up in the attacking midfielder position.

augamayang looks a perfect fit for what we need, he'd be an excellent signing.

wanyama would be very good as well, I've heard decent things about templeton but haven't seen him.

Frimpong is the right kind of player but I'm not sure he's the right choice.

All of those are worth going for and are the type of player I think Lambert would consider.
In a weird way that is why I still have hope as MON would never sign such players, whereas lambert might and randy has proven that he's prepared to throw money at the problem.
