Maybe he's a bit injury prone, what were his appearance stats like at Boro?

That undisputed first yellow against Norwich when he lunged in recklessley was a fine imitation of Warnock.

I'd like to get in another left back in January tbh.

No problem on the other side as I think Lowton is fantastic and Herd and Lichaj are decent back up.

Bennett's latest injury originally was caused in Tottenham game where he got pretty nasty gash on his knee, crashed on advertisement boards I think, which got injured again in game after that so I wouldn't call it being injury prone, just bad luck.

He had a good game at Tottenham, if you don't blame him for Lennon's goal.

He was also injured when he signed for us but I think given a good run in the team and match fit he will be a good signing.

Seem to recall him being a bit bobbins. Did he not have a forgettable loan spell at Blackburn or somewhere?

Yeah Blackburn, but seems to have done well since going to Germany.

Beckham will not be coming back to the Premier League- he stated as much earlier this week

Beckham would not cut it in the Prem any more. Fantastic player still, but the speed of the game would be too much I reckon.

We do need 3-4 experienced men, even if a couple are on loan though.

I like the midfielder at Celtic but imagine he will have bigger suitors than Villa.

Beckham never had speed. He wouldn't cut it on the right any more but I think he could be decent as a sitting midfielder. I'm expecting him to go to PSG.

Wanyama is quality and would be ideal for us but Celtic will want a fortune and he's probably wanted by more fashionable teams than us. Frimpong is similar and could be more realistic. Other than that, lets hope our scouting system can find a few more gems.

I feel we are just a Diame and a Michu short of a really good side.

They would have cost us a combined £2.5m in the summer.

I'd agree with that DrGonzo, although we probably need to address the Gabi/Holman positions too. But two good central midfielders would make a huge difference to the team.

We can't hoover up every great bargain going, but Diame and Michu do demonstrate what could be possible with the budget we have.

QPR had us on the rack yesterday despite the fact that we have a better defence and a better striker by some distance. They did it by always having options for the guy with the ball, and not giving us too much room when we were in possession.

We are not that far from being able to dish out the pasting some posters think we have have done.

I think this summer for once we can say we got a few real bargains thankfully. Diame was an obvious one, that a lot of us on here wanted, and what he brings apart from a lot of skill is a great deal of physicality that we lack badly in our midfield IMO. None of our lads are big strapping people who can really stamp themselves on a game. One of those and an amalgamation of Holman and Ireland and we would be a very decent side. The advanced midfield positions in front of Westwood are where we need 4 better players than we have, although I hold out a little hope that NZogbia can yet be saved.

How Swansea got Michu, considering he had a good scoring record in Spain, for 2 million is beyond me, but he was a snip and fair play to them.

Vallecano (like most of Spanish football) were massively in debt and he only had a year left on his contract.

As for the player himself, he's probably just pleased that he's at a team where he's actually going to be given his wages each month.
