Really? That's erm... hmmm. I dont know. I'd rather find a more promising player from Europe or something.
But he's experienced enough to allow Bennett to develop I suppose.

Riise wouldn't be bad as long as he didn't act the maggot and send unsolicited pics to girls of his willy like at Liverpool.

I ant believe someone was suggesting Carroll and benteke together! I agree with the sentiments above: a centre half, an imposing midfielder and an inside forward for me, unless n'zogbia comes into form

Not sure there's much point speculating on who would take those roles: I hadn't heard of a single one of our summer signings before we bought them! But hopefully our new euro scouting function will help

Interested to hear Danny mills on 5 live yday, saying it was amazing how at many clubs they simply don't bother to scout players properly and the club relies on agents touting players to them. Couldn't help but think of our MON years

If we're talking J A Riisse, he was indeed playing at Stamford Bridge. There was no Risse on show at Spppppuurrrrrrrrs last night; at least not on the pitch.

I'm sure Lambert wouldn't need to be at Chelsea, he trusts Culverhouse and Karsa so one of those may have been there.

Riise would be useful, we need experience at left back.

I ant believe someone was suggesting Carroll and benteke together!

It was just a 'what if' comment based on Lambert liking Carroll and him playing Holt and Morrison together at Norwich at times.
I don't actually think it will happen or that it's likely or even the right thing to do. But despite the opinions of some it isn't impossible that they could play together.

Regarding Riise. DC5 said we were watching him, not Lambert in particular.
I admit, I don't think it feels right though. It seems a bit unimaginative and... ordinary? for one of Lambert's targets.

Riise would be useful, we need experience at left back.

And one who likes to push on and attack the opposition.  Would give us the width we need down the left whilst Stevens/Bennett mature.

As I say Riise would very much fit the bill of the type of player we need at the moment, and thinking about it would make a lot of sense.

If we sign Riise we should sign Bellamy too, buy them a pair of golf clubs, and at least if the games shit, they can provide the half time entertainment.

I think he'd be quite good. Can deliver a good set piece too. My only concern is that we'd be taking a cast off from the might of Fulham, and I'd worry if he was deemed surplus by them. Still, as far as mature players go, it's a better signing than the likes of Hutton or Beye, etc, etc.

I think Riise is exactly the sort of player we need in the situation we're in.  A bit of quality and experience, even if it's only short term.  As long as he wouldn't be put on a ridiculous 3 year contract or anything.

Would Risse come to us?  Especially in Jan.  From his perspective it would be swapping a comfortable mid table team for one that looks quite likely to be in a relegation fight.

He's getting enough game time at Fulham it would seem. Perhaps Jol has younger targets and Riisse might become surplus. As for wages, I don't see us wanting to pay him as much as Fulham probably are, and they're not exactly the richest club (despite what they're paying Berba). Riise must be on 40k at least, maybe more.
