I think we need 1 strong, combative midfield general.

Without a shadow of a doubt.

We lack a dynamic player in there. There's plenty about and cheap. How much did Mulumbu cost the Albion for example?

off topic a bit

nice to see Downing's getting wound by .   Tosser

Not a fan of Rodgers but perhaps he's already found out that Downing's over rated and useless.

I was thinking during the game against WBA how we could do with someone like Mulumbu in our side. He signed for them when they were in the Championship I think, so he probably cost peanuts. I guess Herd is the closest we have got to a physical presence in midfield and should play more IMHO especially for away games.

Mulumbu cost about 500k from France, don't worry as that time we were signing the likes of NRC and Sidwell for 8.5 and 5m......

Said it on another thread but someone like Diame at West Ham would've been perfect, a monster presence and he can get around the pitch no problem aswell as we saw against Arsenal.

Yeah hopefully somebody in that mould is on our wishlist come January. Diame himself would probably have broken our wage cap which is why he was probably never on our radar.

Their Director of Football did a good job for them, so good he was poached by England.  Hopefully with Henke will be able to provide a similar scouting role for us.

Didn't McLeish have Karl Henry in mind for that role for us?

As I said on the old thread, if he's been watching anyone at Wolves I hope it's Bakary Sako. Big, imposing midfielder who scores goals.

Nah he is so swamped by offers from CL teams that he is taking this long to decide which to accept, remember?
