Haven't been impressed with Benteke. His movement has been shit, and he's spent far too much time standing still. At least Heskey got back and defended.

Trust Aston Villa to put a big shitty spanner in my 30th birthday celebrations.

Happy fuckin birthday.

It's almost inevitable being a Villa fan that when another team needs a win really badly, we'll be most accomodating in helping out. Well this isn't going to plan and it just shows that this season will be very unpredictable. We're going to be very good at times and like today really poor. There was no way, after games against two very attacking sides to see us crumble like this. But it tells us what we already knew that there is a lot of work ahead. A lot.

I can see a fourth coming at this rate. There's no fight whatsoever in this team.

The problem is actually the midfield, we lost all shape when Ireland went off.

This. And the forwards aren't dropping off to pressure their midfield either. Nobody other than the defenders is doing any fucking work.
Let's be honest, we have been piss poor from the first whistle...but I never expected us to be down 3-1 to Southampton

I thought we were very lucky to be ahead at HT

Very lucky is a bit OTT.

Southampton are the worst team I've seen us play in this division for a very long time.

What does that say?

Wit West Brom and Spurs coming up we may well be in the shit by the time we play any of the top 4.  Our relatively easy looking start has proven to be quite the opposite in terms of results.

Don't get what Holman actually brings to the side? All I see him doing is prancing around that big arms flailing run of his, with zero end product.

I agree with previous poster - We lost our shape when Ireland went off. I thought he was playing ok - Better than Holman anyhoo.   >:(

This thread is so fucking depressing. No wonder it's said that we don't give people a chance, I'm glad the media don't monitor forums - it's embarrassing.

Work in progress for god sake people - get a grip.

Have to agree, I've seen absolutely nothing from Benteke today.

I'd also add that, for all the comparisons to James Milner last week, Holman might do the working hard, running around bit similarly, but he doesn't really seem to do a great deal more.

I'm over this game. Just forget about it and move onto the next. Its a shame really after we've defended really well against two good offenses in our previous 2 league games.

Baggies next game... At home. Urgh. A fixture that has turned into where we are not favourites last couple of years. Not exactly looking forward to the game now lol... Especially with them doing well.

What does that say?

That you didn't see Wolves last season?

That you haven't watched much football for a very long time?
