I assume they'll mention it over the tannoy and show goals on the big screen.

A minute's silence halted not by the referee's whistle but footage and audio of either his goal at Wimbledon or Wembley on the big screens would be a nice touch.

In 2016 this would be "Villa fan invades pitch brandishing weapon" according to the tabloids

It's incredibly sad news leaving me shocked and thinking of him with Dean Saunders in that video from the early 90's taking a call from Bobby Robson (?). This brings all our recent woes into perspective. And who was that guy with the umbrella?? Happy days to be a Villa fan. God bless him x

One of my all-time favourite Villa pictures. It just says 'Aston Villa' to me.

Dalian could have been and should have been a England regular for many years. Fitness being one of the reasons he wasn't.  What a player.

Possibly.

But when you look at some of the absolute bilge that found its way into the England squad from 1991-94, it's criminal that he didn't get at least a few games.

Ha ha not Bruce or Neil?? It's already been said here but that picture IS Aston Villa to me, Deano grabbing the umbrella to keep Dalian dry. I have a tear in my eye and and a smile on my face X

Not sure how this thing developed into such a tragedy but we will leave that for another day. Today I have a very strange feeling  about what has happened. Almost unbelievable  but it's a fact now. No knowledge if Dalian has any  family as in children etc but my deepest sympathy goes out to all close to him. One of the most talented footballer I have had the pleasure of watching. Thanks Dalian  for that and all your goals.

I remember going to Blackburn in the spring of 92/3, evening game I think. Dalian played, I think his first game back after injury, but was clearly miles off the pace and full fitness. Think we lost 3-0. At 0-0 seeing that Dalian was clearly a passenger, I said to my mate we are stuffed this season, such was his importance at that time
