"What a waste of carrots, what a waste of carrots" was I think the chant from our section of the Clock End.

Shrek: [to Donkey] WHY are you following me?
Donkey: Oh, I'll tell you why.
[starts to sing]
Donkey: 'Cause I'm all alone / There's no one here beside me / My problems have all gone / There's no one to deride me! / But ya gotta have friends...
Shrek: STOP SINGING! Well, it's no wonder you don't have any friends!
Donkey: Wow! Only a TRUE friend would be that truly honest!

Like Risso, I also have sympathy for his demons, having to battle a twat like Tony Adams.

You magnificent bastard.

I can't vouch for the authenticity of the quote, but apparently he said this about the Celtic job a few years ago: "I'm very interested. I do love winning things. It works for me and Celtic is an unbelievable club, you have a 50% chance of winning something up there."
Despite his breath taking over optimism I'm sure he would have managed to bugger up that statistic.

Thanks Tone, although it would have been great to have you as our manager, maybe it would have been a backward step too far for you. I mean what would be the point in you moving from a role as adviser to a prestigious club like FC Gabala to the lowly Aston Villa. It's best us Villa fans get our head out of the clouds.

Go on, give him his job at "the" Arsenal and watch their trophy drought magically disappear.

Wenger wouldn't have him near the place, he probably wouldn't get a job cleaning the toilets.

Is he actually drinking again, or was that a windup? Sad if true.

Is it too much to dream that one day we could aspire to lure the ex- Utrecht youth team coach away from the bright lights of Azerbijian?

Well we did lure the manager who just relegated our near and dear neighbours and pay them compensation so anything is possible I suppose.

What can you do with Villa? You're right Tony - you could do fuck all. Maybe leave it to someone who can, a proper manager, with abilities beyond sticking your arm up and staring at a man with a flag, someone who can actually come up with ideas about managing a team.

Oh, and maybe show a bit more respect to the Arsenal manager who saved not only your career, but probably your life in any recognisable form.

On Goals on Sunday yesterday,  in amongst spouting an absolute pile of shite about his coaching abilities/ambitions, he quite rightly laid into Concrete Ron for the the third goal in particular.

When they showed the goals, what Vlaar did stood out to me too so I wasn't surprised Adams pointed it out. Bet Lambert had a few words with him (Vlaar).
