Is he the one who moved from doing the marathon to sprinting because there wasn't a marathon for leg amputees in the Paralympics? If so then yes, a remarkable feat.

Thats the chappie.

I follow cycling far more than tennis but my vote would go to Murray purely on the level of competition he faced. You can make a valid argument for either, though.

Overseas, I'd award it to Katie Taylor or David Rudisha.

Murray for me to, not that i'm into tennis anymore,
i think one of the Olympians will win it, and it wouldnt matter which one as they are all well deserving apart from anyone that rides a bike, as they are all on drugs FACT

This is why Armstrong is such a big thing, it's completely sullied the reputation of the sport.

For the record the times recorded in the mountains and the performances in the stages suggest to me that this years tour was pretty clean, Wiggins in particular was tested after pretty much every stage, and has been very vocal against drugs for his entire career, I'd be very suprised if there was any evidence to suggest he's ever doped.

Importantly, because of the nature of cycling, the maths to predict someones physical capacity as a rider are pretty accurate and Wiggins performances for the last few years as a rider are perfectly in line with the maths for the predicted improvements.

It's also well worth noting just how good team sky were as a unit, the teamwork they showed was far in advance of anyone else, which pushed Wiggins and Froome to the top.

Also saying FACT at the end of a sentence doesn't make it true FACT.

Has anyone ever tried riding a bike whilst off their chops on chemicals?

I tried it a few years ago - tried to ride a mate's mountain bike - and it was impossible

I dunno how Lance Armstrong manages it but fair play to him

I had a few beers at work a few years ago and tried to ride home. Ended up falling off my bike and into some bushes (luckily). Never again.

my 'all on Drugs' line was tongue in cheek by the way.

but seriously i hope another bike person doesnt win tonight, the cyclists have a big following bit like fishing, but one winner every few decades or so years is quite enough

i'm not taring all cycle fans with the same brush but are they all 'trekkies' favourite comedy 'big bang theory, all wearers of North Face sleeveless jackets and probably go out for a 40 mile cycle ride on Christmas day during the queens speech to blow the cobwebs away ?

that Wiggins seems OK, but is there a more boring sportsman alive than Cavendish, and i'm including Murray

or am i being a touch disingenuous

A touch perhaps.  Us velominati tend to wear Rapha rather than vulgar North Face clothing.

Wiggins achievement at the Tour, Olympics and not forgetting the Spring Classics will see him win way ahead of the Scottish miserabalist Murray.
