Sometimes it takes adversity to start seeing players come to the fore. For me that is Baker. i wanted to start in the centre ahead of Clark and the sending-off should see him start there from next-week. I think that he will show he's the player to play next to Vlaar. he is quite simply head and shoulders above clark. big, built like a centre-half, comfortable on the ball, and a decent enough turn of pace. I'd go as far to say that for all our kids coming he is the only one who looks like he could progress at the higher level of the game.No more to be said about today. The only positives were Baker, to a lesser extent Vlaar, El-Ahmadi, and Weimann...
If I requires spending £30m and bigger wages so be it. I really fear for us otherwise.

Everton are a fair to middling standard premier team
