My antivirus (Avira) has added a browser protection extension to my browser (Chrome), since then, it says that this site should be blocked as source of malware. I've ignored the warning, but why does it think that?

I’m getting either ads or a blank block above the forum headings. I.e. between the quick links and the first forum heading (Golden Muppets). I have an ad blocker installed, but it makes no difference.
