The scrolling update banner
« on: August 19, 2022, 08:33:30 AM »
Thanks for sorting everything out Martin, good work keeping the site running as ever. Could you turn the scrolling banner off though, it's making the place look like an AOL site from 1999!  :)

I like it, I think it could be used for multiple pruposes.

Maybe like a for donations, either for the site or for the plight of zone 6

Think as an occasional impact thing it works very well - it's quite eye-catching in it's own special way.  Not sure I'd be so fond of it if it were a permanent feature.

Edit: Also, echo Risso's thanks to Martin for keeping everything ticking over.  Know from experience it's rarely quite as simple as you imagine it'd be when you start.

We had a ticker tape sign installed at work a while back (it's long since failed and they won't pay to repair it).

You could input the message via a standard keyboard and one wag working on that particular floor typed (workplace name with held) "Working at  ******* is fucking shit".

There was uproar but not as much uproar as there was when I nominated said individual for employee of the month.

Keep it, if only for matchdays to share information on which catering kiosks have chips or beer left on sale.

Not such a bad idea, but for up to the minute updates on local traffic/parking issues on match days

I think it should be kept going as a warning when Wilma is online.
