I'm not sure he was that great at Derby. I think he peaked as a youngster in the Watford side that came second and reached the cup final. He gets a mention in Maurice Johnston's book for being his drinking buddy back then and ended up being a holiday island DJ so I think it's fair to say he always liked to party.

Callaghan actually had a very impressive debut at home to Sheffield Wednesday alongside Ormondroyd iirc.

Went downhill from there though.

I was never a fan of Brendan Ormsby or Paul Elliott. On the other hand, I think I am the only person I know who liked the bloke in between them, Steve Foster.

Steve Foster's spell at Villa Park was an unmitigated disaster. He was never a quick player for Brighton where he had built his reputation, but he was an absolute carthorse for us.
