The red card for the challenge when we played the knuckledraggers and Dion got red-carded for head-butting Savage.

I'd completely forgotten about that. It's reminded me of Enckelman as well then.

Not just for THAT but generally just because he was very very shit. I noticed today that he is a reserve keeper for some random Scottish club. I really don't know how he ever made a lifelong career out of football.

No way, PE was in the main a very decent keeper, obv he will always be remembered for letting David Elleray prove that he was an abysmal ref but he also put in some superb performances that season that helped keep us up....I seem to remember one of them was against West Ham.

Perhaps not top drawer but far from being 'very very shit'

Dead right. Enks kept us up that season. He was a decent keeper but lacked presence. Unfortunately for him he'll always be remembered for that goal at the Sty.

He was a player who gave 100% and a boyhood Villa fan but I never liked Brendan Ormsby. I think it was because he took over Ken McNaught's shirt. Not a player but despite hearing a million times what a lovely bloke he is I will never forgive Graham Turner for carrying out Doug's dirty work and getting rid of most of the '80-'82 players as quick as he could. Banishing Dennis Mortimer to the reserves for the last year of his contract, selling Des Bremner to Blues for peanuts where he went on to do a fine job for them (even in a crap team) for a number of years. Still, at least he was instrumental in bringing through legends like Dean Glover and Darren Bradley to replace them.

I seem to remember Gary Charles getting rather a lot of abuse.

Steve Hodge without a doubt for me, left us in a lurch after being in world cup 1986 when most Villa fans were proud to him being there. I was brought up in the early 70's and the players wanted to play for the mighty Aston Villa. People like Hodge have not got a clue what Aston Villa Football Club is abut

I never liked Kevin Richardson or Alan Wright.

For me Richardson was the reason why we did'nt win the league, and Alan Wright did'nt play his role properly.Just did'nt take to them.

I think it can be influenced by where you sat/stood but I remember Earl Barrett getting a really hard time.

Stan Petrov, remember the game against Newcastle (I think) when he and Mellberg where having a go at each other, Petrov did not come out for the 2nd half and the cheer around the stadium when it was announced he had been sub'd was very loud!

Petrov for me, just was not good enough, I know that now people remember him with rose coloured glasses, but he took loads of stick, and most wanted him out of the club ( Martin O' Neils love child, supposedly)

Curcic. Brought in with great hype and expectation, then faded badly after a promising start, ended up like a pantomime character.
