I do wonder now what life would of been like under Martinez....a tad more exciting I guess

He'd have been much more creative and would have got the best out of N'Zogbia who was immense for them at the end of last season.

And higher up in the league im guessing as at least some of these draws would of been converted into wins.

I've felt ill all afternoon following this. I was dreading every time they went over to Chris Kamara expecting to hear the worst.

I feel even more sick willing Chelsea & Spurs to win but it has to be done - there's no choice!

Alex McLeish really is bad for your health.

Cutting it a bit fine aren't we?

Only watched the second half, as am afraid I snoozed through the first.

Given 9 - fantastic save to keep us in it.
Dunne 6 - seemed to do ok (for a fat lad)
Cuellar 7 - seemed to do ok too, but gets an extra point for that clearance.
Hutton 2 - and that is just because he got to the game on time. Absolutely useless, can't mark, can't tackle without fouling and can't cross. Think AMac is having a bit of a laugh at us with this guy.
Lichaj 6 - seemed fairly steady, like the guy but nothing spectacular today.
NZog 6.5 - played quite well I thought, seemed to be at the centre of any attacking intent, so not sure why he was pulled. Needs to work on final ball.
Herd - 6 seemed to be steady but not his best game.
Clark 5 - didn't see too much from him, apart from him fouling their player and then getting substituted
Warnock 3 - anonymous.
Gabby 4 - he cares but his confidence is shot. Nice cross for a NZog (i think) shot
Heskey 6 - he is never a footballer, but some good effort today, and actually seemed to be bringing the other players into the game, holding up well etc.

Gardner 5 - not much time, but didn't seem to get in to the game.
Carruthers 5.5 - no time at all but won a corner.

AMAC minus gazillion - couldn't motivate the team to fight their way out of a plastic bag. Clearly his score has been slightly tainted by my general view of how the season has progressed. As a positive, the narrow line up, as much as I don't like it, did stifle the Boggies.

Fans 10 - I was watching on the web and they were right behind the team and in good voice. Good on you, not sure I could stomach it.

N'Zogbia was poor again today: I reckon we paid £3m for the player that is Charles, and £7m for his ego.

Although it's technically 'in our hands', aour fate will be influenced far more by other games
How so?

If we will all of our games we stay up- unless those behind us win all of their games by an improbably big margin.

It is in our hands.

It's because we won't win those games, we're reliant on others not to win.

Can we please stop talking about how unlucky west brom were regarding the hutton handball.  We had TWO clear penalties denied, Chris Brunt first half and Jonas Ollsen second half, both clear handballs also.

Thought we were ok to be honest. It was difficult to see all handball shouts as the Internet stream wasnt that detailed. Should of wrapped it up in the last 10mins though with gabby's cross/messed up shot and Heskey open goal. But at this stage I'll take the point.

Tomorrows results are now huge for us. What should of been an enjoyable Sunday I think I'll watch a movie instead and check the scores tomorrow evening instead. If Chelsea can beat QPR tomorrow I think we're pretty safe with a point needed against spurs.

Dune was brilliant today I thought, cuellar made up for is first half gaff with a great headed clearence in the second half. I'm most upset with Gabby. He really needs to step up. It's his boyhood club, we're all depending on him. He has to find that inner strength and confidence to bag that goal or two in the next two games to make sure we're safe. He has to be hurting just as much as we are surely??!!

Exactly. We're incapable of scoring consistently (or at all, really). A scoreless draw whilst parking the bus at home to Spurs next week and a 1-1 at Norwich on the final day is the best we can hope for, therefore we'll be sweating on Bolton and QPR's results. I can't see Wigan faltering now.

I think we are playing for another two points. We may well get them. That may well be enough. But if we stay up it'll be more to do with QPR and Blackburn screwing up.

Now it is likely that our new season is not in our hand but it is in other top club hand. Largely disappoint. McLeish Out!!!!

Taken from bbc website:

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish: "I have had to show my experience and leadership and that has come to the fore. I will not curl up and die. I will persevere to the end as I always have done."
