Lerner must be thinking very hard now whether to sack him as he can't buy a win and how can he trust him to try given the abject failure in every other crucial "must win" game. Personally I think the whole atmosphere would be much more likely to produce a win if he's gone and we can just get behind the team having got our Villa back and give it a real go.

Up till now, I've thought it would be madness to get rid of him before the end of the season. However, the positive atmosphere from the fans now that we are maybe a point away from staying up, would be fantastic. I reckon with AMc gone we'd fill the ground and make a lot of noise. Won't happen, mind.

Trouble is we're toothless at the moment bar Weimann. Ivanhoe scores slightly more regularly than sightings of Haley's Comet, and Gabby's managed 7 league goals in two seasons. Not sure i want us to go gung-ho in the remaining games and rely on scoring more than we let in.

Trouble is we're toothless at the moment bar Weimann. Ivanhoe scores slightly more regularly than sightings of Haley's Comet, and Gabby's managed 7 league goals in two seasons. Not sure i want us to go gung-ho in the remaining games and rely on scoring more than we let in.

We could do worse than put Weimann and Delfouneso in, in place of Heskey and Agbonlahor. Cannot see at as a gamble if we have the older and more experienced regulars in midfield and defence.

I think its QPR we need to watch, it could be us or them. Think Bolton have mainly winable games.

That's my take on the situation. Hence why I am a bit uneasy on how close to us thjey are on goal difference.

Yep, I think it is between Blackburn, QPR and us.  Hopefully Chelsea can hammer QPR tomorrow and make their goal difference a little worse.

I think we are pretty much safe on 37. Spurs will be all guns blazing tomorrow with that 4th spot there for the taking.  A win for them takes us out of the 2nd last spot equation.

They then play Wigan which would be nice if they won putting Wigan under pressure for the final game.  QPR have to get something out of tomorrows game with Chelsea at Chelsea who are on a high and need to keep momentum.  QPR need 4 points to overhaul us.  Assuming they get 3 against Stoke ( not a given) they then need one from Chelsea or a resurgent Man City after a title.  Odds are stacked quite high in our favour as it stands.

6, 7 weeks ago I thought people were mad thinking we could drop. I thought we had plenty of points in the bag and it was too much a feat for the teams below us to fight back.
I was very wrong, in a way you have to hand it to the other clubs who are battling for their lives. They have shown us how to scrap and in Wigan's case play their way out of trouble.
We have meandered into this mess and hopefully the next 2 games will be 2 games too many for this remarkable fight from either QPR, Blackburn and Bolton.

Only Wolves have taken less points from the last 6 games than Spurs , they are woefully out of form.
