I think its QPR we need to watch, it could be us or them. Think Bolton have mainly winable games.
Today was a very winnable game for Bolton and they didn't.They are pretty poor

But they're scoring goals... and we're not. It's a worry.

That's my take on the situation. Hence why I am a bit uneasy on how close to us thjey are on goal difference.

I've given up trying to work out how many points are needed.

So just win a fugging game before the season ends Villa.

I reckon we can do it with another draw or two.

My main hope is that neither QPR nor Blackburn get anything tomorrow. Unlikely they will get points but there has been a few unlikely results at the bottom this season.

Its the fact that we're unlikely to score that means we're still in big trouble. I think we'll get 1 more point.

Draw against Spurs... lose to Norwich.

Assuming we get no more points Blackburn need 7 points from Spurs away, Wigan home, Chelsea away...can't see it at all. That's one all but ticked off.
QPR need probably 4 points from Chelsea away, Stoke home, Man City away. Tough ask for them. If they lose tom'w I'll be a lot happier.

If Blackburn lose tomorrow, they cant catch us unless there is a goal difference bending sequence of events.

If QPR lose tomorrow, they have games against Stoke at home and Man City away, I see maximum 3 points there, which, if we fail to take another point, has them on equal points but with a slightly worse GD.

So, basically, Blackburn and QPR losing tomorrow (not hard to imagine) and Man City beating Man U and keeping the title alive, and I reckon we're ok.

It's still a horrible state of affairs, and until we get the manager out of the club, the malaise will linger far longer than it should.

Massive games for us tomorrow. I have a feeling qpr may get a result at Chelsea due to their other games, although they do need to get in the top 4.

If qpr get a draw or better, I reckon there's a pretty good chance we'll go into the last game in the bottom 3! Although spurs have been poor of late, our form against the top 6 sides has been utterly pathetic this year, with a couple of exceptions

A point today may not be enough. Villa could very easily lose to Spurs and it will be incredibly difficult to go to Norwich needing any points. Indeed, if Spurs score first and early the atmosphere next weekend at Villa Park could be extremely nasty and destroy any semblance of confidence the team has.

So, for me, it all comes down to QPR's results. I think they will get 3 points at home against Stoke so we could go into the final game of the season actually in the bottom 3 needing a result. If QPR get anything against Chelsea tomorrow I firmly expect Villa to be playing a championship football next season.

Well done Lerner.

As long as Blackburn lose to Spurs tomorrow, they cannot catch us (unless they overcome the 12 goal difference).

This would essentially leave one place left between Bolton, QPR, Wigan, and ourselves. If that scenario becomes correct, I can't see us going down.

I would like us to for a win against Spurs and put it to bed.   If we "have" to get something from the Norwich game then I think we will bottle it.  Start with Gabby and Weimann.   Drop Heskey.  AM's teams struggle to win games.  AM team with Heskey and you have no chance.  For our last three winning league games Fulham (H) and Wolves (A) and Chelsea (A) Heskey did not step on the pitch.   It aint rocket science.

I guess bolton and rangers need a win and a draw from 3 games to get 38 points. Do-able but then there's who they play and the goal difference. Still think a point will do it and mebbe we'll even survive on what we have now. Jesus its nerve-wracking though. Really looked bad at one point today when sunderland were losing to bolton. If lerner doesn't change anything in the summer after getting this near the brink, then he really is a fool.

Lerner must be thinking very hard now whether to sack him as he can't buy a win and how can he trust him to try given the abject failure in every other crucial "must win" game. Personally I think the whole atmosphere would be much more likely to produce a win if he's gone and we can just get behind the team having got our Villa back and give it a real go.
