I heard someone say on radio that Lambert hates losing , he is a winner . It does not matter If he plays Manure or Mans£££y he wants to beat them and is gutted If he loses . What a refreshing change that would be  .

Do you honestly think appointing Lambert will be that easy? I don't think he'll join us. I think the reason Martinez stayed at Wigan was primarily because there is going to be very little to spend again. After the story last week about Premiership wages, we are going to struggle. Our appointment will be a manager who isn't currently managing in the premiership and that is why they will join us. In my opinion there will be minimal funds available to the next manager.

I think i read somehwere about Blackpool's chariman saying he wouldnt stand in Holloways way if a top flight club came calling and that he deserves to be there. Could he be the mystery man? (just speculating)

Wigan had a better team than Norwich .   Norwich stayed in the prem easy.

Lambert for me
Debatable. I think goals count for a lot, and Grant Holt's goals really did the business. Their midfield was pretty decent too. Ruddy is good too and I've never been a big fan of Al Habsi.

I'd be happy with either. Also Wigan, more so than anyone else down in the bottom, particularly early season were a little unfortunate in many games. They deserved more points than they got. In the end their play started bringing the points they derserved.

For me though, both those squads are championship level. So survival for both is a real feat. Martinez has done it time and again and Wigan, who've become a Prem fixture continue to punch above their means. If Lambert stays at Norwich, the true test will be repeating survival next year. In that respect, I think Martinez has the upper hand.

We haven't offered Martinez anything.

No he hasn't. The guy is still only 38, he'll get better offers. I don't understand why everybody slags off a player or manager who has turned us down / decided they are better of staying put?

Lambert 49.3 %    win rate
Martinez  26.7 %

I know alot of Lamberts games were in the lower divisions but I spoke to a few season ticket supporters from the championship who said to me Norwich were the best team they had seen that year ( when they were in it ) .

just hoping his first signing isnt a 31 year old Grant Holt, think that would set the scene for the next 2 years

Well that's true, Grant Holt is nowhere near good enough. However I haven't got a fucking clue who we're after.

Not necessarily. If he gets them a top half finish next season he can write his own ticket next summer. What he's done is backed himself, nowt wrong with that nor is it lacking ambition.

Anyway, that's Rodgers and Martinez scratched off the list, if ever they were on it, so perhaps we can move our search along a bit now!

If there's one player to get from Norwich it's Anthony Pilkington, excellent player.

That's a bit of an unfair comparision considering it was Lambert's first season in the Prem.

I disagree, i think lambert would be a positive move and would bring in a new era of optimism, the guy is a winner and id be delighted to see him as villa manager, i also think randy will give him reasonable funds to spend although not the vast amounts afforded to mon.

Is he a mon clone? Definately not in my opinion.

I wouldn't want Holt either, but he did well last season and if he does the same again this season then he is good enough. This season could've been a 'Rickett'..........

He'll command a big fee and 31, and is a bruising forward. I almost guarantee he's a one season wonder.
