As mentioned in Mr Woodhall's latest article, the presence of Euro 2012 may affect the timing on the appointment of Villa's new manager.

This got me thinking (apologies if its already been discussed) as to whether there are any managers of teams in Euro 2012 who might be of interest.
Joachim Low?

His name has been mentioned a few times and out of all the "left field" suggestions, I think he is the best and most exciting candidate to be linked to the job.  He's done very well with Germany and has brought a lot of young players into the side.  There have been rumours that he is looking to go into club management after the Euros, but I would have thought he would be looking at Bundesliga clubs.

Joachim Löw signed new contract during qualification which keeps him till 2014 so we can rule him out.

The reason I mentioned Joachim Low earlier on is that somewhere in my addled brain there's a memory that late last year I read somewhere that Euro 2012 would be his last tournament with Germany and that he was keen to get into club management.
He speaks good English so that wouldn't be a problem.

These are just the kind of posts I remember reading when the rumours about Alex Mcleish started.  *shudder*

Drew 1-1.

And June 1st is THIS Friday, not Friday week!

Well, Martinez has supposedly turned down Liverpool, Whelan is shooting his mouth off at every opportunity about wanting a desision from him and Rodgers is flying home from holiday to meet the Swansea chairman, with hsi odds for Liverpool tumbling.

I think we're seeing the start of it kicking into high gear and expect to have either a manager in place or a much clearer field by Friday.

We are.

In the same sense that today I am closer to my pension than I was yesterday. (I am 26 years old).

26? You will never get a pension.

I thought it was interesting that since the story came out about Rodgers flying back from holiday to meet with his chairman he has become odds on for the Liverpool job but no-one has mentioned the possibility it could be something to do with us. There also seems to be an opinion that if Martinez doesn't go to Liverpool he will stay at Wigan, again a presumption leaving us out of the equation.

Still closer to whatever endgame awaits me than I was yesterday! It'll probably be involuntary euthanasia by the time I have to give up work.

Thats because our stock has dropped so much within the last two years, why would they come to us? That's what the press think anyway.
