I agree John, it is a bit strange as it doesn't appear at this point to be Liverpool's press conference, only RM's.  Personally, I hope it's to say he wants the Villa job but knows they are talking to other candidates!

No doubt Mr Whelan will throw some light on things eventually, unless Martinez has told him to shut the fuck up.

Whelan doesnt give a toss what people think, and Liverpool or anyone else wont shut him up, he says what he wants, he's called it correct on Martinez every time acting as his own personal Sat Nav

i love the old duffer for the way he winds eveyrone up

I dont think I could handle Rodgers going to Liverpool. That would be a punch to the gut. Dont really care if Martinez goes though.

The latest stab in the dark from The People is a Southgate and McDonald double act.

Lots of contradictory shit in the Sundays. The People have Southgate and KMac as our new management team! Nobody knows anything and it's driving them all mad, I'm sure they're having a competition between each other to see who can print the most outlandish story! The bookies will be the only winners, as always! The paper that said Rodgers is in talks with 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' is also reporting that he's just broken Swans' transfer record! It's all bollocks, we'll know when the club announces it and not before, but hopefully it will be next week. There is much work to do at the club.

Really don't want Di Matteo. He was rubbish for WBA, he's just a good fit for Chelsea. History with the club, and lenient on the super stars. I don't think he would sort out our squad.

I wouldn't mind Di Matteo, he wasn't rubbish at West Brom he got them promoted after getting MK Dons 3rd in the table.
Actually West Brom played some decent football under him and at the time I thought it was an unfair sacking even though they were struggling.

At Chelsea he did what was needed to be done at the time to get the right results, I think even I could stand negative football if we won something.

Spot on, same for me too

to defensive, i'm absolutely pig sick of being bored shitless at Villa Park, sick to death of the dross served up,
i want someone with an attacking mentality, i'm to old for negative tacktics i want some fun

To say RDM is defensive is based on their CL games.  Chelsea used tactics and a game plan to beat Barca and Bayern, two of the best teams in Europe.  They were hardly defensive when they beat Spurs 5-1 or QPR 6-1.  He would be good for us.
