I like the sound of breaking glass.

Someone outs himself as a Hazel O'Connor fan.

Au contraire.

Really don't want Di Matteo. He was rubbish for WBA, he's just a good fit for Chelsea. History with the club, and lenient on the super stars. I don't think he would sort out our squad.

No me. He is a negative bugger too. Not my cup of tea. West Brom fans were not impressed either.

I see Martinez is having a press conference on Tuesday. Daily Star are reporting that Villa agreed a contract on Wednesday with Martinez, before he went and had talks with John Henry on Thursday. Would be interesting. If I were Martinez, I would come to Villa rather than go to Liverpool at this point in time. There is bigger scope to do a more impressive job here.

Really hard to believe that we had a contract even drawn up for Martinez, let alone a formal agreed upon offer. I can't even remember who the bookies favorite was on Wednesday.

I wouldn't mind Di Matteo, he wasn't rubbish at West Brom he got them promoted after getting MK Dons 3rd in the table.
Actually West Brom played some decent football under him and at the time I thought it was an unfair sacking even though they were struggling.

At Chelsea he did what was needed to be done at the time to get the right results, I think even I could stand negative football if we won something.

So RDM today then?  Martinez press conference on Tuesday, possibly going to Liverpool but papers/linking them to Van Gaal and Rodgers again. Could be an interesting week ahead!! I'm looking forward to what Martinez has to say if Liverpool are still looking at other candidates.

well the bookies at the moment think its between Martinez and rogers for Liverpool, both virtually evens

i dont understand the press conference thing if it's true, is it Wigans FC conference or Martinez ? why tuesday ?
you only have press conferences to announce things, seems a long way of to keep everyone guessing.
unless its my old mate Whelans way of being a thorn in the side of the big boys

I agree John, it is a bit strange as it doesn't appear at this point to be Liverpool's press conference, only RM's.  Personally, I hope it's to say he wants the Villa job but knows they are talking to other candidates!
