I will nail my colours to the mast here. If we appoint that self righteous, odious little prick gollumway, me and Aston villa under the rl regime are through and my time will be given to supporting tamworth untill they are ousted. He disrespected our club and we should never go crawling to him cap in hand. Kmac, Grayson, he'll even get big eck back. But never precious....

Not sure I would go that far. But I would require an awful lot of him publicly ridiculing himself for last seasons comments and asking for forgiveness.

on the plus side, he would always send a team out at places like Old Trafford, Klanfield and Emerites to attack the opposision and try and win the game by scoring goals

Klanfield doesn't really belong in that list anymore. Every fucker wins there.

I still reckon Martinez is nailed on, and may well have been first choice all along this summer but we are having to wait until Liverpool have got off the pot.

Worrying whispers about GMac though, possibly with a DOF already within the club.

I thought that the board had ruled out a DoF?
Who is 'already within the club' that could operate as a DoF?
Just what is this fascination with bloody Martinez?

It's rumoured that Glenn Roeder could be DoF with GMac as manager.

As I said to villa74 on another thread, you don't run down a club and then get their manager's job. Ok, so Holloway was sticking up for Blackpool when we were sniffing around Adams.

It's not the best example but when Liverpool were sniffing around Barry we stood up for Aston Villa but MON didn't go and call Liverpool a half arsed club that used to be famous. But we still kept Barry away from them for a season. That's my point. Could you imagine any club appointing a manager that had disrespected them like that? No way! And it's not about misplaced pride, it's self respect.

I would have gone for Lambert before the OGS scenario but now I'm not sure. He would be a safe bet I'm sure. The OGS was such an exciting prospect that I think I would like us to go for a more continental approach. More emphasis on quick passing, attacking football and also a manager who wants to build beyond the now (ie MON).

That was the appeal with OGS and a massive fair play to the board for looking at that option. With that in mind I'm sure they want back track on their ideas.

I don't know who fits that bill, my knowledge outside of the UK is non existent. On that list Poyet sounds a interesting option and I still like Martinez.
